Huw is due in court this week on three counts of making indecent images of children.
He was arrested last November and charged in June. It only seems to have come to light publically when the court session was listed yesterday. Apparently he hadn’t told friends and the BBC only found out hours before the news broke.
They are keen to stress he left their employment in April this year (ie before he was charged)

I don’t believe the BBC didn’t have knowledge of this. And I’m confident that if they did know, someone will uncover the lie.
As for him leaving his job in April - wasn’t his payrise announced just a couple of weeks ago?
The whole business stinks, imo.

Another 6 months wages and pension payments made from the bbc, between November and April .........

Very nice.😒😏

I still don’t understand the BBC giving him a pay rise while suspended. I can actually believe they only got told hours before the story broke. To me that’s what came across they were more annoyed about in their reporting last night rather than what he’s done.

He had apparently taken on more hours work prior to being suspended which is where the extra money came in.

While I’ve not been on the receiving end of a knock on the door at 6am I have had the joy of a 5pm phone call from social services telling me that my ex had received such a knock.

It took the CPS 18mths to get round to charging him (months of lies which everyone else believed) by the time he appeared in court my kids were over 18 so no one gave a duck about us.

He however had people swarming round him, wanting to help him, Lucy Faithfull foundation being the main source of making him feel like he was a victim.

Several years on and my kids remain fucked up by it all, they no longer have a father in their li, he hasn’t been in touch with me since I refused to be a character witness, he’s had thousands of pounds of therapy spent on him, but we have just been left to get on with our lives.

Not quite sure what the point of my rant is, save to say that my ex and Huw are selfish fucks with no thought for others.

PS I can count on one hand how many people I have told about this in 7yrs. If nothing it’s vaguely therapeutic ranting to strangers on Tattle 😂

God that’s awful sending love to you & your kids. I don’t know much about LF foundation other than The Guardian article the other day. I don’t really know what the point of the article was but it didn’t paint them in a very good light.

I honestly don’t have enough of these ❤️
And I certainly don’t have enough words for how screwed up the justice system is 😡
All strength to you and your kids x

Yes, it’s total bullshit. One of the biggest news corporations in the world with hundreds of journalists didn’t get wind of this? PLEASE. Whenever a celeb is normally arrested the news is everywhere.

He and wife have split

Not everyone gets the knock on the door scenario.

It’s possible he was asked to attend his local police station for voluntary interviews which is when they arrested him before being released pending further enquiries. He could have then been asked to attend again to be charged. That would make it more likely to go under the radar, but there would still be a paper trail and record somewhere. Someone will have known.

I think it’s more likely there has been a very carefully placed reporting block which lasted until the official court listings were released. This would have been to protect the integrity of the case so that his lawyers couldn’t claim the media had impacted any potential trial.
---
I’m not convinced he’ll try to take it to trial. I think his lawyers will have advised him to take the guilty plea and reduce his sentence as much as possible by showing remorse. It’s very difficult to fight image charges, especially if there’s multiple images or if they’re of multiple people. The only defences available to him would be: I thought the person was over 18 or I didn’t ask for them to be sent. But neither one would be particularly believable to a jury.

I think it depends on the situation. When I reported my stepdad for sexual abuse he got a knock on the door but was then asked to go for a voluntary interview which took place a few days later rather than being taken to the station straight away. I suppose it depends on the evidence they have?

im sorry you went through that. I hope he got what he deserved, but as that’s castration and a pair of concrete boots I know it’s unlikely.

I think it sometimes depends on the person, the offence etc. I know of a case where someone handed themselves in. Walked into a police station and confessed. It was the victims family who got the knock in that situation. He’d already been arrested and was in custody.
