I am out of date I must admit! What long mortgages. How depressing. Not these days it's not, 25 is the usual starting point and 30 is becoming very common too.

It’s the only way to make housing remotely affordable unfortunatelyI am out of date I must admit! What long mortgages. How depressing.
I don't particularly find it depressing, it's just normal. I fully expect to be working until well into my 60s. You can't really expect to retire at 60 if the life expectancy is going to keep edging towards 100!I am out of date I must admit! What long mortgages. How depressing.
Get a valuation and ask the agent. If you are selling and do replace the Kitchen beforehand go as neutral as possible. I know Grey is everywhere but it does go with most colours so it would give a new owner the chance to add a different coloured splashback to personalise it a bit.If you were looking to sell in the next 2-3 years would you bother putting in a new kitchen? The current kitchen was put in about 20 years ago and is falling apart it really lets the house down. The layout is bad and there’s hardly any units. If we spent sat 8k on the kitchen do you think it would increase the value of the house by nearly as much?

ETA, getting a new kitchen fitted is an utter ballache though so if you have young kids it might be worth leaving as is and letting new owners sort it.

No, any buyer is likely to rip it out anyway. Just price accordingly. If you were looking to sell in the next 2-3 years would you bother putting in a new kitchen? How do houses get in this state? https://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/d...aa92947ea54e6fb579e3b2b857a6df8648c3e51204e6a
There are groceries in one of the pics. Makes me sad to think someone may have been living in this.
Was it a drug den or something do you think? There are groceries in one of the pics. Makes me sad to think someone may have been living in this.

It does say it’s a forced sale? Maybe the council forced it as whatever was happening in there wasn’t great. Anyway it gives me bad vibes although I love the Norfolk areaCould well have been. Or squatters were in there perhaps. Someone has got their work cut out with it. Like you said...it's crazy how a house can get in that state
Picture 8 is there a reflection in the mirror? There are groceries in one of the pics. Makes me sad to think someone may have been living in this.
In the current market it is pointless offering anything less than full asking price. If you don't offer full, someone else will.I’ve properly started looking at flats now and put in an offer, to have it immediately rejected for being lower than a cash buyer’s. I guess it’s all part of the process but it’s so new to me and overwhelming!
Does anyone have any hints for the offer stage? I went in with what I thought was a reasonable offer but was told it wasn’t
We offered 15k less on our house and got it, the market now is not the same as it was this time last year.In the current market it is pointless offering anything less than full asking price. If you don't offer full, someone else will.
