Helen Flanagan

I can definitely see daft Helen being with a drug dealer. A lot of the towie girls are with them. Seems to be the trend.
Same because she’s so thick but I just don’t see Scott being happy with that situation at all. Honestly it’s easy to see why he refuses to speak or even communicate with her when this is the decisions she makes as a mother of 3.

Paying for a private diagnosis doesn't make that diagnosis fake, unless you are accusing doctors of malpractice.
I’d never thought of it this way around but clearly you’re absolutely right.

What’s important is how anyone would manage their diagnosis with advice from a doctor or consultant and finding a balance that works.

What’s sad is that the waiting list so long for some who need support and can’t afford to pay and on the other side where some see a journey to diagnosis as a bandwagon that they should jump on.

Yes I am accusing these ‘doctors’ of exactly that. It’s big business. The NHS refuse to acknowledge these diagnosis or treat them until an official NHS diagnosis has been received. Or people seek a private diagnosis after not hearing what they wanted to hear from the NHS. Obviously not all cases are like that, but it takes support away from the people that truly need it. I’m not derailing the thread any longer on this.

Another perfect example if some people who pay for a diagnoses so they get away with their crappy behaviour, tik tok is full of them and it's a cover for being a narcissist. And on a personal level in court last year with my DV case the 'private' diagnosis card was pulled, I was like nah you're just a tit violent person with no morals.

That’s awful that a lot of people use it as an excuse to be a bad person. Most people with adhd that I know are good people, really empathetic as they feel things so deeply and can empathise with others

I’m not disputing that. I’m highlighting the very current, disturbing trend of people claiming to be ADHD to deflect their actions, responsibilities and behaviours. Just like Helen and many other ‘influencers’ that pay for private diagnosis.
…. Or the state of our NHS causes people to become so desperate they would literally pay thousands of pounds to finally gain some understanding on why they have had these feelings, actions, and struggles their whole lives?
There is a reason people make the choices the make…. Arrogance, insecurities or sometimes because their brain literally works differently.

80% of people that take their own life have previously been diagnosed or were on the pathway to diagnosis for a neurodivergence.
I don’t think we should shame people for reaching out for private help for adhd when that is the only way to access life saving medication.

Not true. The diagnosis is acknowledged and medication is a form of treatment which is then available on the NHS. The private diagnosis is just not a shortcut to further treatment from the NHS neurologist as jumping the line would make the already huge waiting list situation even longer!
