Health anxiety #4

I keep getting unexplained bruises (atleast I can’t seem to remember hurting myself) on my legs. Bloods next week. The bruises can be sore, tender to touch. No other symptoms other than feeling tired most of the time but I also have a toddler who loves an early morning and to come in beside me and his dad in the middle of the night, so I don’t sleep particularly well… I’m so anxious. Someone please help put my mind at ease!

Could be as simple as a vitamin deficiency. Try not to worry (I know I know) but good to get your bloods done and rule things out!

I am so bleeping sad. I've been back on Sertraline for about 5 months now. My OCD and anxiety have gone from a 10/10 to a manageable 3/10.

HOWEVER, it's making my hair is fall out.

My hair was thick and long. Clumps have been falling out but it was only yesterday that I noticed it's like half the thickness 😭.

So I compared pictures of my hair just before sertraline and a picture I took in September (about 3-4 months) and my God..the difference is undeniable.

So I googled "Sertraline reddit" (since Google is ass and just push non helpful info) and found A LOT of other people experiencing this too.

Apparently it's temporary hair loss. So now I have to decide between better mental health or my hair falling out.

I'm so annoyed that this side effect doesn't get mentioned by doctors.

Don't think I've been on this thread in a fair while (thanks to CBT and meds haha) however this is bigger than that and it's made me spiral once again. I woke up Sunday night with a really bad pain in my left breast, thought nothing of it and went back to sleep. Fast forward to today, the pain is mildly there however my nipple is so tender and sore and tingly, and I can't get in to see my GP for weeks 😭

Worth checking out but probably just a random hormonal thing. Always need to remember that most breast cancers etc don't tend to have pain as the first symptom!

I’m not a health expert but was referred to the breast clinic this year where the Dr stated “pain is not breast cancer” and was explicit that it just doesn’t present like that. Of course I’m sure there are exceptions but it’s likely to be hormonal etc

Still worried I have jaundice in my eyes 😞 I’ve taken pictures of my eyes and I think everyone’s are a bit yellowy around the edges? If I pull my eyelid right back the past few days it’s been a bit yellowy, but today it’s defo not as bad 😓 so now I’m worried I actually DO have jaundice…taken photos of my eyes the past few days abd today and in pictures I can still see the yellowy tint round the edges, but I can’t see it using the flash on my phone 😓 if it was jaundice, can it fade and come back within a day? I don’t think I’m yellow anywhere else but been worried my 💩 is too pale a brown colour which is what triggered this occasion of anxiety in the first place

No jaundice does not fade in a day. In fact the yellowing would be becoming more obvious. You should be looking in pure daylight not with a torch!. What do you think could be causing the jaundice. Jaundice is a symptom not a diagnosis.

If you were jaundice you wouldn't be questioning it, your eyes would be the colour of the shark in my avatar. They don't go yellow around the edges, or requiring your eyelids pulled back, nor does it go. Your eye whites wouldn't be white anymore, they'd be fully yellow.

Could your toddler be kicking out in their sleep and you don’t realise until the bruise? I agree with the other poster, likely to be a vitamin deficiency! I go through phases like this where I get loads of unexplained bruises too

I’m scared it could be PC 😖

Thank you. The pain is eased but it's more of a burning sensation. Doctor had a good feel and he put pressure on my breastbone and my gosh the pain! He sent me away with naproxen.... Not the best outcome

Pain when pressing on the breastbone sounds like costchondritis! Interesting you say the pain is in your boob, I have the same kind of pain when breathing in sometimes, but I didn’t think it could be costchondritis because its too far from my breastbone, like right over my boob…

He didn't say. I explained the pain came on suddenly and my nipple area is so tender, feels like an infection almost but he seems to think I've done some heavy lifting.... In my sleep. Going for a second opinion on Friday

Good you're going for a second opinion.

I'm peri menopausal and I was getting a lot of breast pain a few years back and especially near my nipple. It was so painful. I started taking evening primrose oil which is recommended and it did improve, so I assumed it was hormonal.

It’s certainly possible that they could be - I have always bruised relatively easily being anaemic and I’ve been told I have a vitamin d deficiency before, but you know what your mind talk is like!
