I wouldn't believe anything Starmer says either, and this is in all the other major papers too.
No.10 and BP seem to have conflicting positions but you can't trust them.
It would be fine as you say if we could dismiss it as press rubbish, but Chuck publicly opened the door and allowed researchers into the Royal Archives months ago to look for evidence. They found some. He's on record BP saying that the slavery conversation's time has come.

This is big news in all the papers as it's genuinely a major story. It's possible that agreement will be reached to avoid a CHOGM showdown as it would look bad, and discussions will continue under the radar. The Caribbean bloc is not going to let this go, there's a lot of money at stake here.

A report last year found the Church had invested large amounts of money in a company that transported slaves."

The Caribbean countries have been given a golden ticket here and they're going to use it. All this has kicked off since The Queen died.

The government certainly can't afford to pay reparations either, although I'm sure they'd like to rob pensioners of everything they've got and make families even poorer. They've already shown their contempt for older people by removing the winter fuel allowance.

There would be uproar in this country if they agreed to us paying up, particularly in view of all the foreign aid we already give out. All my ancestors were peasants, not land owners or slave owners and my husband would be paying reparations to himself 🤪😄

My cousins’s wife is from Transylvania. Come to think of it, I have never seen her during the day. Hmmmmmm. Have never seen her eat real food either. Hmmmmm. Aways thought her teeth looked kind of sharp. Hmmmmm. He always wears high roll neck sweaters. Hmmmmm.

I'll bug them about every comma and spelling mistake

I do the pew sheets, special liturgy books etc for our church, and there is one churchwarden that I always ask to proofread because he is like you - if I so much as have a comma and it should be a semi-colon, he'll catch it!

I'm really grateful to him. I find proofreading my own work very difficult - I think when you know what you have intended to say, that is how you read it and your brain glosses over any mistakes and reads them as being correct.

I hate anything to leave my hands in a less-than-perfect state, and proofreading is a tedious job. I'm really grateful that someone is prepared to do it.

My eyes do that, even with other people's content, if the first and last letters are correct and the length is more or less the same as the word it it is supposed to be, I'll speed-read it as okay. Thankfully I'm trained to proofread at least five times, three if there's a hurry.

It happened again today though 😂 teammates pulled me into a call towards the end of the shift because they had been arguing over a particular label for a while (hopefully not the entire three hours that they'd been in call for by that point!), so asked me to settle it. Then they wanted to ask about general punctuation and grammar stuff because they keep repeating some mistakes. I said no one listens to me, they argue when I tell them to fix something, so I'll now review and make them correct stuff (like 100+ pages of code 😂) right before we hand the project over to the client. So I was met with a chorus of noooooo we'll do as you say and this one guy started talking about how I made him add/remove commas and periods from multiple pages the last time we sat together to discuss something else 😂 I'd have had to involve HR had they mentioned my "freakish attention to detail" 😂

Unfortunately, the real troublemaker wasn't on the call and is quite Smegsy 🤦 oh well, these guys' cooperation is half the battle won.

I can't imagine her wanting to spend much time there. Unless ARO is going to morph into Algarve Riviera Orchard.

Very good surfing on central Portugal's Atlantic coast, of course. ;)

They already have a mansion near the coast in Montecito (allegedly) although many of us don't think they live there. Why would they buy a place in Portugal?

This points to a separation to me. I can't see Meghan wanting to spend much time in Portugal because it has little to offer her so this home must be for Harold so he can go there and see his friends and possibly Eugenie.
