Would have been very different if he'd quietly turned the award down unless it was for Invictus. And the initial announcement had been that he'd accept purely on their behalf.

I believe that she chooses white a lot because she knows it will make her stand out in photos and on camera, it may do that but it looks boring and nondescript on her so it's not really having the effect she thinks it does. It's just drawing attention to a raddled bony old nag in a room of brightly dressed racehorses.
