Thank you @planetmirth and @DanDanTheIceCreamMan for the recap.

I'd like to add my annoyance that Robert Hardman is still merching our late Queen's death. He implies he's withholding secrets and is privy to insider knowledge, but he wasn't there, and everything in his book - so far - has come from Chuck. In the blurb it says our Robert was granted unparalleled access to RF members and Royal Archives. I suspect the other RF members wouldn't and didn't confide in him and would have booted him out. Imo all this information has come from Chuck.

On HM.
"He said: "I wanted to do it as sensitively as possible. You know, there are other aspects of that day that I haven't reported on."
"There is a huge secret about Queen Elizabeth II's death which "can never come out" a royal expert has revealed."

Replying to @FrancesDundee80 's comment last thread, like her I did a double-take at the DE phrase from Hardman's book "the Waleses were caught messing around". Presumably DE was quoting from the book, as it's in "quotes" and "Hardman said...", and that's all we have to go on so far.
The story about this non-delay over a year ago is pointless and worrying.

If our Robert doesn't cease and desist, may I propose a really premature thread title of
"Shut Up Robert Hardman"? I don't know how to put it forward.

I have never forgiven Diana for her “retiring from public office “ tearful speech.
Everyone remembers the speech, but not the charity she was supposed to be highlighting that day. It’s one close to my heart as they had been helping a close friend of mine.
They were so excited about finally getting some recognition for the work they do and hoping it would help their fund raising, but it all fell flat.
Selfish selfish woman!

It was Headway who help those with brain injuries.
Quite agree, I think her attitude was summed up in the Bashir interview when she talked about 'battered this and battered that'. I'm not sure she had any real interest or understanding in the charities she was involved with beyond some headline grabbing.

That diana housekeeper book came out I think in the 1990s if not then then early 2000s I bought a copy. Dont have it now cos moved several times.
I think I remember it saying about prince Andrew being a bit of a diva too shouting at staff but I might have read that somewhere else.
On topic..The ginger one may well be a psychopath as per that quora post ..hes very henry 8th vibes. Although henry 8 was supposedly considered handsome in his youth. Cant say the ginger one ever gave me those kind of vibes.

A charity I firmly support (due to family experience unfortunately), there is also a Headway charity shop in my locale.

In what way?
Really?

I agree with Cinnamon Girl that it is rather curious that this housekeeper's book…from decades ago…has somehow been resurrected AT THIS MOMENT. The excerpts I read have Diana being cruel to Fergie as well…but Charles being Fergie’s confidante.

Charles comes off rather well in it.

I have not read the book, just heard snippets from it, but it is reported that Charles wanted to sue the housekeeper over it. Did he get it banned in Britain and if so, why, if he comes off rather well in it?

Thanks @DanDanTheIceCreamMan for starting this new thread and recap and to @planetmirth for the brilliant title.

I googled her. She had to flee to the US. He was furious and wanted to destroy her livelihood for being so disloyal. Chuck was awarded all the royalties by a court apparently. She's dead now. It may well be that he's revisited the book and realised he actually comes across quite favourably compared to almost every other royal in it.

A large part of this book describes Diana's instability and poor treatment of staff, the Diana we didn't know. But in among all this and at the same time as she was vomiting, crying and throwing tantrums is noted that her husband was visiting C openly at night and when Diana and the boys had returned to London. This seems to have been 1985/86, C being a regular visitor to Highgrove before, during and after C and D's marriage in 1981. So a few years in, 4 or 5. Not even their Wooden Wedding Anniversary.

After their engagement Diana asked Charles if they could look for another house, as Camilla lived only 17 miles away. Charles said no and was livid his motives were questioned.

Other books say that Chuck spent the night before his wedding with Camilla. It's no good Chuck wringing his hands and asking what "he'd done - now - to upset her."
He famously said that he had no intention of being the first Prince of Wales not to have a mistress.

It seems D took up with Hewitt in 1988, and went on to have other affairs. She was unstable, vengeful and could be nasty, but how much was due to her husband's open infidelity, the rival court of Camilla, and the public humiliation?

This can't be glossed over and just the results looked at without considering the possible cause. I'm neutral about Diana but she was treated cruelly imo. They were mismatched but that was no excuse. He was 31 and she was 19.
I wonder how I'd have coped in Diana's shoes.

Looking below the immediate words, this reflects worse on Chuck and his current wife than Diana, but that's jmo.

I'm not terribly shocked at most of the revelations in the bootleg book aside from the amount of waste. I wish people would stop sending them things 🙄 They need to have a better system in place for dealing with freebies. The fact that they get a Hefty discount was also sobering. No wonder they pay the staff poorly if the perks are so plentiful.

Link to banned book:
downloaded this yesterday thanks to @SlavaUkraini and have finished it! It should be required reading for any blind Diana worshipper. What a cow/loony. Charles was a doting dad, but this didn't fit the narrative spin by her. Since Harry can't remember much about his mother, someone buy him a bleeping copy!!

Charles is reaping what he has sewn.

the book is very even handed actually, imho. It certainly doesn't skate over Charles's bad behaviour.
