Not a Brit here so apologies if this comes off as ignorant but is Archie an actual legal name that people use? I thought it was short for Archibald for the longest time until I checked on Wikipedia today and it's literally just Archie.
According to Lady Colin Campbell Archie was a name the toffs traditionally used as a dogs name.
When I was a nipper, there a couple of Uncles whose names were Archibald and then it seemed to die out until now.
