Of course, it doesn't have to be a Church of England bishop. Rowan Williams was Archbishop of Wales, and Desmond Tutu was once sounded out about the job.

Dr John Sentamu was the AoY, and yes, he was popular. When Rowan Williams announced he was standing down, he was quite sure he had a good chance of getting it, but he had made a few enemies and so didn't even make the last two.

A few years it was suggested that the AoC should become the International Head of the Anglican Community and the AoY would be in charge of the British bit, but everyone in the Anglican Community thought this sounded too much like an Anglican pope and said 'Nah!'.

William and Catherine attended the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on 9th November, and were there again on 10th November, both times with the king.
BBC reports that Chuck received a standing ovation when he arrived. Remembering Catherine at Wimbledon this summer, I hope she and William got one too but if they did it wasn't reported.
GB News confirmed that Chuck & Cam will attend the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 22nd November.
The attendance of the Waleses "hangs in the balance". I bet it does, and that they won't go.
Cam will not appear alongside Catherine imo.
The Waleses are acutely aware of the dangers of overshadowing those with power. It didn't apply with the Queen, who was above feeling threatened, but not this one.
I see Cam was back again after her cough, on 11th November.

Is this the same Rhiannon Mills who went on the SA tour with the Ho and Stoat with their plastic doll and said not a word? "The respected and accredited royal reporter?"

She was doing the Palace's bidding then, and she's doing the Palace's bidding now.

If anyone's "faked or exaggerated cancer to cover up personal difficulties" it's Chuck, and this is deflection as he's beset with huge difficulties he's trying to hide. Catherine isn't.

😂😂 I know way too many people who pull tit like that. Old stuff or stuff they don't want gets 'gifted'. Expired, damaged or old merchandise in the case of business owners. Unwanted gifts, passed on.

I get soo many people asking for 'cheaper' (read as old or slightly damaged but still good-looking) candles etc for gifting, or to make up hampers with cheaper (and mostly spurious) Made in China stuff.

Even with the sort of negligible budget I usually have, I can make up much better candy bags than those vile creatures 🙄 Bought two bags of mini KitKats for Diwali, one for me and one to give away - I'm not giving away anything I wouldn't eat myself.

Anyway, so Smegs, the self-declared global teacher of how to live, founder of the blog she ran, wife of a British Prince, the Duchess of Sussex, alleged supermodel and the most popular Hollywood actress ever, joins the category of a random penny-pinching housewife (or an unethical/uncaring business owner) looking to declutter her house by offloading unwanted stuff on people who would be obligated to gift something (good) back...

Thank you 🤗 that's the conclusion I've also reached. Unfortunately, can't avoid her - circle is small and vicious and we regularly work together so we need to be friendly at least on the surface, but I will definitely be keeping my distance.


Migraine today and I couldn't find the good medication until much later in the day so haven't been able to catch up. Hope Catherine's been getting a lot of support. These comments about someone's physical appearance go beyond one person - how many more would be feeling insecure and pressed to pile on makeup etc, or even hide away. As if being ill or stressed wasn't traumatic enough already!

On another note, the tiredness showing on Catherine's face proves that she isn't pumped full of plastic like some Sugars like to say. Smegs on the other hand... We'll have to see her without filters (God forbid!) to be able to tell 😂

Sentamu? He also left under a cloud (can't remember why - I think he may also have covered something up/pushed something under the carpet, but I'm speculating) . He's trying to get back into a bit of light bishoping, as I understand it. The Bishop of Newcastle, Helen-Ann Hartley has complained about receiving a "coercive" letter from Welby and Stephen Cottrell (Archbishop of York) trying to make her let him back into an official church role in Newcastle.

I think Welby didn't respond. Cottrell's spokesman said it wasn't intended to be coercive.

Interesting that it's 'us' and 'ours' but 'your' service etc. I can imagine that Sparry is in his office pompously demanding that the statement should talk about "our valour" etc, and the speech writer is like "duck you" and didn't let Sparry steal the glory.

And Sparry didn't realise because he couldn't bother to read it.


Also, the unnecessary use of Oxford commas might mean that an AI generator was used. I spend a fair bit of time correcting that when my colleagues bring me AI-generated text.

She is a journalistic icon.
Back in the 80s the UK had a fabulous range of newspapers covering the music scene.
Sounds, Melody Maker, Record Mirror and the New Musical Express.
Working within those papers was a group of outspoken young writers.
They were a must-read.
Julie was one of the stars of that group of writers. She was at the NME.
She just had a magical way with words.

Always controversial, but always worth reading even if you disagreed with her.

She has written and still writes columns that are edgy and clever.

Her personal life has been a rollercoaster and she's overcome a few knocks.

She initially was a supporter of Meghan and Harry and their escape from the Royal Family, but once she saw the true them, she has become one of their most scathing and brutal critics.
