I'd add, and turn to the East. The old Ottoman sultans used to have no wives, only concubines, mostly kidnapped and sold into slavery in the harem from as far away as Poland and Ukraine. You bore one son to the Sultan, you were then retired from service and married off to a functionary. More than one son to one woman was considered a risk for obvious reasons. When the reigning Sultan died, inheritance was decided by all the current living sons gathering an army and duking it out, until one was victorious in battle. The victor would then have the remaining sons brought to the palace, where they would be required to submit to execution by strangling. Ensuring for his reign, the new Sultan would have no surviving male brothers who could threaten him and place a claim on the throne and fight him to inherit the empire.

It's pretty damn soft the way they go about tit these days compared to old-school. Oh, the PAIN of being a pampered 'spare', funded to the tune of millions by daddy, and allowed to go off and play army men (without the real risk), educated in the best schools even if you're thick as mince and don't belong there, and given special uniforms and duties to fill up your life if you want them. Frankly, I'm beginning to see the value in the Old Ways of doing things.

Sultans also had other methods for remaining brothers: eyes removal, lifetime jail cell, empalement and other creative ways. Normans and Tudors were little kids compared to them:)

Speaking of Camilla's looks.....check Google for images of her when she was younger. She was quite attractive. I read/heard somewhere that she is not photogenic....and that no one in her family looks good in a photo. I sympathize because I am a pleasant enough looking person, but I look terrible in most photos, no matter how I try to manage.

Funny story. My mom torched my ass (unintentionally) one time. My niece asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. She let the bridesmaids choose their own dresses. She just wanted them to be purple. I found a really nice one and asked my mom take a picture of me so I could send it to my niece. My mom took about 4 photos of me and they all looked fugly, so I got frustrated and took the camera and said I'd take a picture of my reflection in the mirror. As I'm walking down the hall to where the mirror is, my mom says, "Don't get mad at me. This is what the camera sees." :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

If they know the rumours to be true then that really does effect Archie and the new sprog in terms of the line of sucession. Now the traitors are out of the country they could literally pass off any child as their own. Nobody knows what Archiedoll looks like and the royal family have only seen him as a baby once or twice. They'll probably never see the new baby. I wonder if Charles will insist on a DNA test when the new kid arrives? I bloody well would if I was him.

No. They she'll milk the new mummy role and there will be lots of WE'RE HAPPIER THAN EVER! (yes, shouting ... to tell the world how happy happy happy they are. Yes SO happy and even more in love.
In other words all the guff couples in an unhappy marriage spout. Every time I see a tidal wave of "so happy" shite from a zeleb I start counting down the months (sometimes weeks) until one or other gets caught cheating and they split.
With this pair it won't be cheating, it will be more dramatic.
