There were a lot of story threads that ultimately didn't get used, like Richard's investigative reporting. Him, Daniel and Ann weren't even in the last episode! Shame we didn't get to see Faisal get nicked, he was practically skipping away when he found out about Ivan and Matija.

But. Can't really complain when the writing was so unbelievably good and we got that brilliant, cathartic, tense, satisfying confrontation between Catherine and TLR. Just them talking. Incredible. The first scene they'd had together since S1? Just sublime. That moment where she walked in saying "Hello?" and he replied "Hiya" like a son coming in for dinner with his mum. He was clearly still a deluded, insane fuckwit but at least he had the wherewithal to realise the woman he despised gave his son a happy life.
One of the most beautifully heartbreaking moments I've seen was that bit where the photo album of Becky stopped. Just blank pages. So harrowing and nothing needed to be said. Gonna miss this show!

The Hiya from TLR had me, so casual!

I loved it. More low key than I thought but I liked the symmetry with season one. I had to have a word with myself as I felt sorry for Tommy. It was fitting he finished himself off. If Catherine had killed him, it would have made her a killer.
Loved she tied up the loose ends with her final sentence in the force too.
The acting was sublime tonight.

I absolutely loved it, can’t believe it’s all over and there’s no defo no going back now TLR is dead 🥹 I loved it when he said he loved Ryan and wanted Catherine to look after him, I think he genuinely loved Ryan and part of it was also he thought he couldn’t get much further. I’ll really miss TLR 😂. As for Sarah Lancashire, what a class act 🥰.

Wonder why Ann didn't feature - didn't like what they did to her character this series. She seemed a completely different person.

With the fight in the field - did anyone think 'convenient rock is convenient' lol

It wasn't the worst ending to a series I've seen, went down as I'd expect with TLR dying - it was clear there wasn't much further for him to go when he'd stumbled through Hebden badly injured.

Why have that bloody B plot? Was ridiculous
