People, I am going to come in and answer your questions about Hannah cp and the way they treat and behave around her. As I can understand why they do it from my cp and experience's of growing up with it. But before I continue, we don't know what mental or cognitive function issues Hannah has which are associated with her cp. As the family have probably been like me, told it's part of the cp and get on with it. As things with children disabilities 20 - 30 years old were different. Not like nowadays, with children with disabilities getting diagnoses for everything, when it's mental/cognitive function.
Firstly I understand, why they don't tell her about the activity as soon as they know, as Hannah cannot control her emotional side, she gets overwhelmed and excited. But her is the problem, when they do that she may be fine for the activity. But when it comes to the day of the activity, she might not be able to do it, due to her cp, aka tiredness, pain levels being high, or weather conditions aka hot or cold weather. Which can and will lead to a big downer for her. Because she doesn't want her disability to let people down. It's horrible.
Hannah is capable of making her own decisions, but I do think quite often she has to say yes, just to please Becky. But I do think that has come the norm to her. With her family too scared to interfere and say no. If it's a difficult decision like myself, be better to have someone for guidance and sometimes take over, because she will become overwhelmed. And will make misjudgements. Because with a cp brain can often take longer to process information that I normal brain.
