Not to white knight but there are lots of benefits to kids of a balance of nursery and home, regardless of what parents do - they get to meet other kids and learn social skills.

Although, having said that, have we ever seen her take him places like play groups or other baby groups? My nephew who is a similar age is taken swimming once a week and taken to loads of baby groups or on little trips to the nearby farm etc. I know that all kids have nightmare days but I'm sure you'd have to do less surviving if you kept the kid distracted/entertained.
 
No idea why they’re in a rush to send him to nursery. My brother has a baby similar age and the difference is insane. They never go out to play groups, I swear he’s always in the house watching tv.
Babies thrive seeing other kids even with their parent and having worked in a nursery I’d never send my baby to one.
The stuff you can do as a parent / grandparent with the child will give them so much more, but that’s if she actually took her baby out to somewhere other than a soft play. What about messy play clubs, sensory class, music group, baby gym. The options are endless..

Depends on the nursery though really. A blend of the two works well for a lot of children. At least at nursery he'll be played with.

Definitely depends on the nursery! Although I think a lot of parents would be shocked at what a lot of chain nurseries are actually like, not just how it is when parents see it and pictures they see.
Independent nurseries are different than chains from my experience.
Just weird to put your child into a nursery when she doesn’t work when he isn’t with her? Unless lazy days & online shopping/Netflix equals work
 
I saw this clip on Facebook and I think this is what Grace will be like in the future. Exercising the “parent centric” style of parenting which basically means that the parent comes 1st and the child just fits into your lifestyle.

I wasn’t able to post the FB link here but the clip was taken from “Channel 4’s Britain’s Best Parents” 2020.

I did think before Grace became a mother she would be doing lots of activities like visiting mother and baby groups, baby book time, meeting with other mums and organising regular play dates. Though also some of her new age things like baby yoga, baby massage, and baby meditation. He gets none of the above, I do really think that Grace should have waited until Cyprus was 3 to put him in nursery as that is the age some children start school. He would be talking, and it would give him a year around lots of other children regularly before he starts reception. It looks like she will be finding this herself as 2,3&4 year olds qualify for the free 15 hours a week.
 
Honestly I don’t understand the UK’s obsession with nurseries. 9 month old and off you go - they wheel them off. I understand there may be different circumstances and situations but in general I really don’t understand the whole concept at such a young age but that’s whole other topic .

But in Grace’s situation looks like she just can’t be bothered lol and wants more time for Netflix, healing her never ending and money bringing trauma and don’t wanna do much with him tbh.

It's not just the UK. It's where both parents work and life is expensive lol and it's much sooner than 9 months old.
Some countries have financial helps for young parents but it's not everywhere (or not enough if you had a well-paid job)... Some people need more social interaction.... Well, all situations are different I guess.
I did enjoy my time with my babies but I wouldn't criticise parents who can't do the same. I've personnally always seen my parents work. It was the "normal" thing and I was a happy child :)

Obviously, Grace and Lee's situation is not the same, I agree with you. But I hope it's for the best for Cyprus.

Oh, I know. I've worked in school nurseries and private ones. I know which I prefer! Did a week experience in a independent and it was good, would send my child there.

Yeah, it's a lot of money for no real reason.

Some people have to/want to go back to work and not everyone has family who can help. I personally think childminders are better for under 2s however.

My child started when she was 3 because lockdown prevented socialisation otherwise a couple of days at in laws so I could work was enough. We did groups and activities everyday she was home. When funding came through and she hadn’t seen children I felt it was a good idea. I hope it won’t be full time considering she doesn’t work full time!

what I don’t like is her acting like all other nurseries are tit if they don’t have those qualities she’s mentioned.

I‘m thinking, what was her main topic before COVID hit her? Didn’t she mainly focus on fashion? Why not revive that somehow? I mean she does feel a bit lost fashionwise atm, but even that could be made into content. That’s one very sad point for me. Somehow I feel like fashion was one of her ways to „celebrate life“ and she seemingly lost that.
