I don’t really rate nepo baby Barney and think Finley is a bit cringe though.

I really liked it! Nostalgic.

I thought Finley was on something tbh eyes were everywhere

We loved that. We commented on how they haven’t tried to modernise it and even the gimmicky stuff like the baddie was totally 90s.
It’s good Saturday night family entertainment which is needed

Watched it on catch up and enjoyed it! Feels like the classic episodes.

Thought they were a bit harsh on Finley in the Gauntlet - the one Gladiator didn't need to ram him all the way back to the start.

I liked Viper being the Wolf 'baddy' character. Legend is trying but I know him from his MattDoesFitness channel and he's a nice guy, so the mean act doesn't really work.

Loved the show. Hated the presenters. A sports presenter such as Chris Kamara would be perfect.

Yeah, didn't understand that. He'd have got the 10 points & maybe been ahead of Finlay & had a better change in the Eliminator, especially when Finlay's knee was giving out. I genuinely don't think he knew what he was doing there!

Don’t know if it was timing or editing but did anyone else notice that the contestants would start the game on the “1” part of the countdown, before the whistle blew to start the event? Especially noticed it with Finley and surprised the refs didn’t pick up on it.

I also went to see it live in Birmingham! It seemed to all be filmed a bit backwards when we went but the size of it all was incredible!

I met wolf at the American adventure theme park when "the iron wolf" rollercoaster opened. There's a picture of me and my brother either side and as the pic was taken wolf kissed the top of my head and I grimaced it's still displayed in my mum and dad's house

I prefer Barney to the other nepo presenter Roman Kemp, I think Barney is a bit more natural.

I was surprised they didn't go more diverse. I wonder if they wanted Bradley and Barney came as part of the deal.

Based on the current crop of sports stars turned tv presenters, I'm glad they didn't go that rouge. I can't think of one that is good enough.

It was great! Way better than I thought it would be and it nailed the original vibe. Agree about the Walshes. Bradley was fine, but they both looked out of place in their suits and Barney was a bit out of his depth with the presenting. They weren't terrible, just not quite right

I'm so glad they didn't mess with the format, genuinely enjoyed the show. Saturday night was desperately in need of some family friendly viewing.

I do think the guy got confused and thought he got more points for staying in the red zone but bluffed it out!.

Also were the gladiators always so nice with their after event comments? In my mind it was previously 'go home and be ashamed of yourself' rather than 'yeah I really respect the effort you put in' .

Yeah I did think there was a little more focus on sportsmanship, no bad thing as they were still tough during actual events

I think it’s better if only a handful of them act like arseholes because they’re athletes not actors.

I thought Barney wasn’t that bad. It’s pretty obvious Bradley is training him to be his replacement when he retires.

Loved watching this last night! I loved seeing the comradeship between the gladiators and the contestants. My fav is DEFO Giant. Nitro, also. Legend is fit if he kept his mouth shut.

Only thing I hated was that theyre trying to make Viper like Wolf but it's so fake! I read an article that Wolf would have potentially come back to the show but he wasn't asked which is a shame!
