Aww no I’m gutted R.I.P JohnNo way, John Anderson has died at 92. RIP
I can still hear him say Contender Ready Gladiator Ready in my head.He was a very big part of the original Gladiators series and part of my childhood Saturday night TV.
Sounds like an amazing day! How did you get tickets? Although I daresay my daughter would consider this ‘uncool’ by the time the next series comes round to being filmedJust got home from a day at the Sheffield Arena watching show 2 of series 2 being filmed. What an amazing day!!! The contenders we saw today were incredible in lots of different ways.
We’ve loved watching the production side as well - 1 hour tv content took 8 hours to film, but was so good to watch from start to finish. Cannot wait for series 2 now to start on tv xx

There was also a tribute to John Anderson today which was very emotional xx

That sounds great, did you have to queue for a longtime? I’ve got tickets for Thursday for 12:30. But not sure how early to get there to queue. We didn’t go last year but heard there were lots of issues.
Amazing, so glad you had a great day. Were there any new events? I love watching it with mine of the TV but they did say they got a bit bored seeing the same events over and over.
Oh no this is so sad! Loved him xNo way, John Anderson has died at 92. RIP
Thank you for sharing! Probably nothing left but will try nowTickets are via a website called Applause Store -just register with them and request on there xx
any issues re queues seem to have been sorted out - the queue to collect tickets opened at 8am - we got there for just after and had our tickets in hand by 8:15. Is definitely suggest getting there early but the whole party have to be there to collect tickets so there’s lots of time to kill before. We got the tram to Meadowhall and had breakfast then did a bit of shopping before heading back to the arena for midday. Is say the worst bit of queuing was for security when getting in, it was so warm yesterday but appreciate they have to do the security checks xx

So they have brought back an original event, and yesterday was the first time it had been played since the original series. I’m not going to spoil it (production do ask through the day not to say on social media what events were played!) but this is definitely worth the wait. Me and my husband were like giddy kids cos it was both our favourite events when we were younger. You could see how nervous but excited production was for bringing this one back xx
