I feel like the female gladiators should decide whether they’re going to be happy and supportive or steely. They seem to swing between the two and I don’t really get it.

I prefer them a bit feisty I think. They were all a bit too nicey nicey but the random Gauntlet paddies were a bit of entertainment in a an easy 10 game.

I'm catching up on this thread (and the new gladiator episodes). Totally agree with the earlier convo about the gladiators being aspirational and something to look up to.

I'm especially enjoying seeing representations of strong, muscular women on mainstream TV. It's not the social norm for women to go to the gym to get bigger and stronger so it's nice to have a reminder that going up dress sizes because I've built treetrunk legs and big shoulders is totally cool and hot. It can be a bit demoralising sometimes to bust your ass only to reach for a size XL and wonder if you looked better before. These ladies prove it's all worth it and looking like a superhero is cooler than looking lika a Kardashian.

I noticed how different today's gladiators look to the originals. Most of the originals look like yoga instagrammers do these days. Panther was the biggest but even she looks smaller than today's. Love that the look of strong, muscular women is being normalised.

I definitely love the women more than the men this time around. They are not only beautiful, but they support other women and cheer each other and the contestants on. It's so lovely to see. My faves are diamond, fury, sabre and dynamite.

Comet got injured after the episode she did Hang Tough in, needed screws in her ankle.

Oh I didn't know that. That must have been really rough for her. Hopefully we see more of her next season.
