Girls Aloud #3 Nobody sees The Show unless the queue says so

When you have a photoshoot at 5, and a cosy night in with a takeaway at half 5.

This obviously completely pales in significance given what’s happened this week, but is Cheryl still legally Cole? Or is that just the media? I know they got divorced, but I’m even seeing quite feminist publications refer to her as Cheryl Cole? And then “Cole stated…” etc.

She's legally Tweedy but she never gives her surname anymore. 🤣

Been arguing with people since the event about this 😂 didn’t realise I was such a Chezza fan. She’s Cheryl professionally, but Tweedy in her personal life but I think she’ll always be known as Cole as that’s the name she was when she peaked

Out of all of them, I never understood why Nadine never had a fantastic solo career
Nicola also had great vocal but she never had a strong enough personality to be a solo artist. I’ve never really been keen on Nicola. I prefer Nadine Kimberley and Cheryl in the earlier days.

Her early songs were naff tbh and she made a mistake doing a deal with Tesco. Also, at the time she released insatiable, Cheryl was very much the "nations sweetheart" and Nadine was her big bad enemy who was seen as thinking she was too good for girls aloud by not attending the Brits with them or doing the passions series, and constantly swanning off to Los Angeles. It's only really recently with the rise of tik tok that she's became a much loved and memed comedic character tbh.

Go to Work and Girls on Fire she did with Xenomania in 2017 were better musically, but by this point her public profile had dipped and the publics music tastes had changed.

Cheryl's popularity + Nadine's Vocals + Nicolas writing talent and catchy songs would have made for an insane solo career, I guess that's why they worked as a band, what one didn't have, the other made up for.

Her music was dated imo, I’m sure if she’d signed to a major label (I’m sure there was interest) then she may have been lead in the right direction. I’d I remember rightly her manager was a bit crappy aswell.

Nicola’s album is my fave GA solo album. So quirky and different. It was nice to see music she wanted to make and not just music that would sell.

I’ve said this before, but boy and girl bands are always greater than the sum of their parts. Even the most outrageously talented singers look drab out there by themselves post-break up. There’s something about a group dynamic that’s so magical compared with a solo artist.
