How does she know she’s having a girl? I think she said she’s due December so surely that only makes her 12 weeks? Confused! These baby announcements can be so triggering and premature too! Especially as early as this

You can find out quite early nowadays (not via NHS though)

She’s probably paid for one of them blood tests that you can get from like 6 weeks onwards. She was desperate for a girl, so I assume she would have wanted to know asap.

I wonder if she did ivf if she could pick and choose what gender it’ll be? I know that sounds crazy but I’m sure they can do that, whether that’s through ivf or not. Isn’t that how Victoria beckham got harper?

Never commented on this thread before, but her post “never give up hope” really fucked me off. I’m several years into a tough fertility journey and don’t have pots of money to keep going. It looks like that the end of the road has come for me and my husband, and hope has nothing to do with it.

It is not legal in the U.K. for gender selection, I think abroad you can but believe they used a U.K. clinic.

@Phil I Buster i totally understand what you mean. My baby passed away last year so it felt a bit sore. I felt pissed off too, and announcing it so early! Also the comments people were putting saying “I can’t think of anyone more deserving!” Omg I can think of numerous people more deserving than her. Yeah she’s been through trauma but there’s a lot worse things other have been through.

Sending so much love to you. I agree, “you’re so deserving”… what an eye roll! Pregnancy loss is devastating, and infant loss is life changing. I’d not wish it on anyone and I’m sorry they experienced it; however when it feels as if some people have pots of money to try anything including what looks to be gender selection, it’s hard not to feel that it’s unfair.

Was there a reason for her having IVF? I know she miscarried before but never knew she was doing IVF.
