Literally all of this! I used to follow Gemma as I quite liked her and her content. But I unfollowed a while after she had Mia as I found the exercise content holier than thou and a bit triggering as I was struggling with my weight post baby.FFS Gemma. Stop whinging. I lift like you do. I’m quite built. So are loads of woman at my CrossFit gym & at hundreds of other similar gyms across the country.
I/they are not constantly banging on on social media about our bodies. We are not constantly filming ourselves in the gym. Or making sure our selfies get our flat stomachs in ‘for the gram’. I don’t think I’ve ever filmed myself in the gym, I rarely take photos of myself. I go, I work out, I socialise a bit, I get on with my day. My entire life isn’t about my body or how it looks. Exercise is something I consider a vital part of my life for my health & wellbeing. It’s 10% of who I am. The other 90% of me doesn’t think about it until the next day. Sure, be proud of yourself but dear god, stop whinging & crack on. You get the same comments every single red carpet you do. You know they’ll be there on The Fail. Don’t read it. It’s not hard.
I have since got my act together, lost 3 stone and am in the best shape of my adult life. I enjoy exercise but it's not my life. If I miss a day, oh well. If I have a take away, oh well. I exercise to live, not live to exercise, which seems to be what Gemma does. Fair play if that makes you happy and her quads are impressive but she doesn't come across as happy.
