Game of Thrones (no unaired spoilers)

I think (hope) Bronn will tell Jaimie and Tyrion what Cersai wants him to do. Maybe he'll see that Jon/Dany is a better leader and find some honour in his heart??? I think he might die though so who knows of he'll even get the chance to kill them.

Throughout all the series Bronn has pushed the point he's just a sellsword and will be loyal to only whomever pays him the most and money is the most important thing to him (and a castle!), and Tyrion was always reminding him he'll pay more than anyone else. I predict there'll be a moment where Bronn has Tyrion with a sword at his neck or something and Tyrion explains he'll pay whatever price he wants but then Bronn will be like 'nuh it's ok mate, I don't want to be paid for this one, I'll let you live for free'. It'll be a nice moment and show Bronn actually put his friendships and loyalty before gold. I hope so anyway, I liked his interactions with Tyrion and Jaime.

The small pox mention from Qyburn was great

Still think Ned should have just told her the truth, wouldn't lyanna of been fine with that if he asked while she was dying? Seems like a greater betrayal lying to his wife.
Yeah but his honour wouldn’t let him break his promise to her to protect Jon by never revealing his identity to anyone at all. Of course he would have been safer it Catelyn knew the truth as she would have surely shown him soemthing like motherly love. But Ned wasn’t really known for his pragmatism was he ? and he decided no one could know the truth so that had to mean no one. Frustrating, even now.

Doing some fixes to stop this thread appearing in new posts - hope thats ok @MontyMoo , but vast majority want to talk about it after airing or are happy to avoid this thread untill they've caught up.

I screamed when I saw the new intro, makes sense it had to change as they aren't scattered all over the place. Loved the change and pov angle.

So much to say don't know where to start! Will watch it again tonight.

Bit worried that Sam will end up killing Dany, he is rather good at killing non civilian / army people. His dad was old and decided honnor was more important but Dickon was a big loss.

Idiots for not learning their lesson with that stupid mission to get a wright from beyond the wall. Should have burnt that sacrifice from the night king the moment they saw it. After the last time a wright screamed and the night king warged into it.

I guess the budget didn't stretch to elephants, that would have cost an absolute fortune to do. The dogs as wolf's were always said to be very difficult and fiddly to do so did wonder how they would get elephants to northern Ireland.

Worried about how they will feed so many and all the foreign army's that are used to warm climates 😰

Not sure if Bronn will be loyal to Jamie, Tyrian or cersei (getting annoying having to Google the names all the time). I hope he won't kill the brothers, but he's always been pretty clear that he's just a sell sword out for money. Hope he isn't true to that.

Glad Yara is free. Still hoping Olenna is alive. Lady Mormont is my fave.

Well if Catelyn had of just loved John Snow also half the things wouldn't have happened. Still think Ned should have just told her the truth, wouldn't lyanna of been fine with that if he asked while she was dying? Seems like a greater betrayal lying to his wife.

Same! They're the couple of the show to root for. I can't see Jamie living but let's hope for an EP or two together.

Sounds like a great compromise, thanks 🥰🥰

Maybe change then no spoilers to spoilers in the title? That way new users won’t come in unexpectedly getting spoiled

Great thanks! added unaired to the title, hope that's clear enough? It's broadcast live for most people in Europe in the AM so any fan should be aware!

Yep you're not wrong, just a frustrating personal flaw in him.

I wonder if that's the end of the second sons (I won't really miss them as never warmed to the new daario) but they could mount a resistance in kings landing to the golden company. So much to tie up in not much time at all, but thankfully seems more constant than S7.

Yeah I’m begging they maintain this quality of storytelling throughout even in the big battle episodes. That they used that extra year to really work on the writing. The last few series were a bit disappointing even if visually thrilling.

hot pie for the throne!

Ed Sheeran has confirmed that he is 'Ginger Eddie' who had his face melted and has no eyelids (as told by the lady with the pox )

My fave 'theory' is that now that we know that Jon is in fact Aegon and is not Sansa's brother, but cousin, he could marry her and be power couple which is also slightly less  than doing his Aunt. I have taken my ball in with regards to Dany after Sam and hope she gets frazzled by her own dragon. Plus the Stark line would continue

I really hope Theon redeems himself (so far so good) and I refuse to believe that Tyrion will go bad.

I don’t like Bran either.....
Me neither, he proper gets on my tits but so does Arya in the later seasons.
Enjoyed the opener. I’m hoping it’s a return to form after the last season, which (to me) seemed a bit thrown together with them rushing to tie loose ends up amid a couple of big set pieces.
Good call on whoever said about the dead Starks rising up (although I wouldn’t imagine there’s much left of them?). Probably in the minority but I love Sansa. Her character arc has been amazing.
Another thought that has just come to me. Isn’t the fact that Jon rode a dragon a giveaway? I thought only Targs could be dragon riders.

Somethings up with Tyrion ... and Cersei. The whole Bronn thing feels so misjudged and off, there just has to be more to it doesn’t there? Is she sending some kind of message? To either Jaime or possibly Tyrion... please don’t let it be writing that bad.

As for Sansa and Jon -PLEASE NO. They grew up as siblings whatever they are plus Sansa has been forced into enough politically convenient marriages. She wouldn’t stand for it. Nor the fans. And The writers wouldn’t do it to her. In fact she is showing how strong she is becoming alone, victim no more. Her arc is one of the best.

Sansa has grown into one of my favourites in the first few seasons Ayra (Aria?) Was easily my favourite but im impressed with how much she has grown as a person and survived so many manipulative abusive men.

I just thought maybe the reason Cersei sent Bronn to kill Jaimie and Tyrion is because apparently IRL Lena Heady and Jerome Flynn don't like each other and their contracts say they won't have any scenes together so the writers needed an excuse to send Bronn up north and away from Cersei/Lena.

Also I found this on Twitter:

OH MY GOD. I honestly have no words. After such a long wait and such high expectations, I was not the tiniest bit disappointed! I'm pretty sure I had palpitations all throughout, that's how excited I was! [emoji1787][emoji1787]
Poor Jon was shook!!! Couldn't figure if shook because he's banging his aunty, because he's the true king of the seven kingdoms or because Ned lied to him his whole life! What do you guys think he'll do?
I love Daenerys, but she should bring down the "bend the knee" a few notches. [emoji51]
I love Sansa and how she's become such a strong and fierce woman. [emoji119]
I totally ship Arya and Gendry! [emoji7][emoji7]
Every single dragon scene is epic, so great how it seems they'll be a huge part of the final season!
Cersei's baby? I'm confused! Could she actually have sex and Euron not notice? [emoji848] I fancy him too, but Dickon will always have a special place in my heart. [emoji7][emoji7]

What do you mean about Cersei? She was already pregnant in s7 from Jaime but seems she wants to use having sex with Euron in this episode to call him the father. Tho if anyone thinks this baby will be born healthy and live a long happy life...you are very optimistic.

I meant that precisely because she was already "supposedly" pregnant last season and assuming some time has passed, her stomach should definitely be showing, making it difficult to hide whilst having sex? Unless she kept her clothes on! [emoji1787][emoji1787]
I think she isn't pregnant.

How much time has actually passed though? She could conceivably be only a couple of months gone and not showing. Last series ended with Dany and Jon on that boat on the way to winterfell, right? And in this theyve arrived.
There’s definitely something odd going on with Cersei, Tyrion and Bronn as I have mentioned. Many people think Tyrion promised Cersei succession for her unborn if she supported Dany - who is thought to be “barren.” There certainly seemed to be a conversation we didn’t see all of in the ep they take the wight to kings landing. Which may be why he was so worried about her then getting it on with Jon. Something is going on there and I’m desperate to know. I do think she is pregnant tho - yet another tragedy of her children due. Maybe this one will be born undead or something.

Also did you note the completely empty throne room? Cersei always adored her children and right now has never been more alone. A pregnancy and potential child is all she has.

Yes, you're right. I suppose not much time would've passed. I just rewatched the clip from Cersei's prophecy when she was a teenager and so far, it all came true, so again, I really think she isn't pregnant.

But yeah, something's definitely up with Tyrion and I'm also dying to know!

Yeah I know the prophecy that’s why i think the child may be still born or worse some kind of night king baby sacrifice or something ....i think she believes she is pregnant or would have literally nothing to live for right now- plus it explains her hook up with Euron- but that doesn’t mean she will actually have another child.

someone commented (I cant remember where as I was binge reading) that possibly she has already lost it because:

a. she was drinking
b. when Euron said put a prince in there; she did the teary eye thing

Yes I read the same somewhere. That before she wasn't drinking which was the reason why Tyrion suspected that she was pregnant and now she was drinking wine and seemed sad. Plus the prophecy said she would only have 3 children.
