If it really was Alan's family in that story (there were 5-6 people on that table), I can see her joining them for a UK round trip while Gobbeh is driving back to Thurgoland with Jane, if she was there as well.
What I can't imagine is Gobs in nature. There's just no scenario in which she'd agree to frolic around the Scottish highlands.

doubt Cak has gone without her, she is probably there miserable because shes not jsut doing the same 4 things overseas she usually does. Going back to the topic of Nellie quickly, I wonder who is paying for him all this time that he's been with Jane? I'd like to think Gabby is giving her money to pay for his food ect but I have little faith in that.
I'm happy he is having a nice life with Jane but it does make me sad that he's been pushed aside because Cak has come along. My cats mean everything to me and my partner knows that, no way would I ditch mine for a weirdo trucker I barely know.
