Funny People and Place Names.

There used to be a business a few towns away called, "Well Hung Doors" which I thought was funny.

Here in NZ there are lots of town / city names that start with "Wha" which is pronounced, "Fa" ... one, is called "Whakatane" ... and "Tane" is a nice Maori male name. Say it together and it sounds very rude ... you want to do what to a Tane?!
I know a lady from Papatoetoe, she calls it Papa two toes.

Down in Somerset there are villages called Pïddlehinton and Piddletrenthide (both on the river Piddle of course).

In Hampshire theres a campsite called Sandy Balls.

The town of Condom in France

Oh and in Hong Kong I believe theres a street called U Fuk Man Road - it probably means something like Lily Flower Avenue or such like but its proved very popular for tourists taking photos of course :)

In the course of an old job I worked a lot with local authorities in Bristol and they had a Cherry Virgin on the council. Can't find anything about her now online, she probably has changed her name after marriage (or maybe just out of embarrassment)

There are at least two! Man Fuk Road means something like "written blessings" and is near the famous Ladies' Market. Fuk Man Road means "fortunate/blessed people" and is known for having many Thai restaurants in the area
