While we’re on the topic...I wish some (far from many, a select few in fact) on here would choose to scroll past rather than state a condescending or “policing” comment when another’s opinion, joke, observation, etc. differs from theirs. Unless something is wildly inappropriate or disrespectful, none of us should tell another to not state what they’ve said, thought, or felt about anyone or anything. This is a GOSSIP site...why anyone is acting holier than thou or reprimanding someone who may say something that isn’t 100% positive about every single topic is baffling. Again, if something gets out of control and crosses major lines of respect, sure, but I’ve yet to see anything THAT crazy. What’s especially hypocritical is the ones I’ve noticed being the most judgmental and condescending have strong adverse opinions about other things/people themselves. Just because you don’t agree with what someone is saying doesn’t make it wrong or give you the right to control the conversation and dictate what can or cannot be spoken about.
If you have a problem with what’s being said and a valid reason for it, by all means have the conversation and debate the stance...that’s the point of forums...but if it’s simply something you don’t feel like talking about or isn’t your viewpoint you DO have the option to not respond and scroll past and let people openly say whatever they want. The thread is bound to change topics sooner rather than later...you can come back when it’s something you DO wish to engage with. Live and let live.
Sorry for the ramble but I just don’t like seeing people being policed or put down for participating in a discussion where none of us are more than spectators and observers in the first place. This is meant to be a space where all opinions are welcomed and more often than not they will vary from person to person. Anddddd scene.
