Saying he wanted a last chance to get it.
Says he's at peace with it. Admitted he's lost any chance to get back in the RBR. Actually seems genuinely emotional.

I almost think it would have been better for him to gracefully bow out last season after the broken wrist. Could have ended his career on a "what could have been" note rather than a whimper. Then again I'm sure he's grateful to have at least been given a chance.
I think it'll be an announcement that he's retiring not him being dropped, that would be unusually brutal. But also kind of like Nyck de Vries revenge

Yeah I agree with you. I personally don’t think he should ever have gone back after the McLaren thing. People mainly had sympathy for him with that and there was always the thought of “the car doesn’t suit him”, whereas now it’s kind of obvious that the car was never the issue and he actually just lost his ability a bit. He could have stayed as reserve/PR driver if he wanted, or just straight up retired but I think it would’ve been better than this awkwardness

Of course he had. But I still think it is crappy from VCarb or rather RB as a whole to not announce their decision if it was taken and not give him and everyone a chance to properly say goodbye after a long career.

For the record, besides extreme cases like the Egg or getting fired for some personal illegal tit someone did, I think everyone deserves to have a chance for a proper celebration.

But f1 is toxic anyway, I don't know why I still have some expectations 😅

100%. He looks drained, even worse than he did that last year with McLaren. Jumping into more racing isn’t going to help that
