That’s very interesting, I wonder if that’s a part of his contract. If Lando leaves McLaren does the business go away. I may have to do some digging now on if this is a common thread throughout motor sports or is Zac just a big Lando supporter. Does anyone know is he just selling karts with his name or will there be a sponsored team too/kinda like Steve and Quadrant?

I do wonder how much McLaren have a say in what he does. Like someone said Zak is down as CEO I believe on the government records. This karting thing was probably in affiliation with McLaren somehow I’m sure ZB is involved in it somewhere. Lando wasn’t allowed to release merch he designed because it was against his contract (his words) so I wonder if he’s really going to be tied in with McLaren for a long time with all these deals and side hustles. I think Lando is Zak’s future (even bigger) Star and Zak is helping him build an empire around himself
 
Also - why the Quadrant social media blitz the same day as Lando’s go-kart announcement? Seems a little cannibalizing as a marketing strategy but what do i know.
(BTW - Just discovered you all two days ago and I’m so excited to have finally found my people! No friends or family or hubs share my F1/Lando obsession haha)

yeah that would be it, Zak is an entrepreneur, for example he's involved in Andretti United team in Extreme E and apparently that was not an obstacle to form a McLaren team for 2022 in the series 😂 I guess we already know how hermetic motorsport can be from the WAG perspective 😂 so investments are even more understandable

Landos tried to create something similar to The Sidemen. My son is obsessed with their content and Quadrant are desperately trying to emulate their success. Sidemen was created over a longer period of time from individuals and they weren't forced together by a famous athlete. Fair play for trying but I think it will fall flat very very quickly. The only videos that get massive hits are the ones with Lando in and he appears to have taken a back seat on it but is spending lots of capital on it....which won't be his own money. Think his dad has been in business long enough to advise him not to use his own money. Investors will see Landos name associated and stump up start up cash.
