Nah, he's clueless. This was the perfect moment to bring new players, rest the ones injured and try things out. I mean, they are playing Andorra again.
Thank God Ole was clear about Maguire being out for a couple of weeks or he'd have been called up as well.

And why isn't Bellingham there? That's the big question for me.

Yeah he just have picked something up after being already injured, was clearly just a minor injury though. There’s a lot going about at the moment, TAA & Jones were both ill in the last week.

Ben Godfrey should be MILES ahead of Mings and Coady. Unfortunately he’s not 100% match fit yet as he had covid but he’s so versatile, played numerous positions for us last year that it was ages before we played him in his preferred position and he honestly so quick and such a good defender - I was shook by his speed when U was lucky enough to go to a game during the december lockdown/tier system. I hope Southgate realizes this eventually. I don’t rate Coady or Mings at all

Hardly any Wolves fans rate Coady either though, look on twitter and they all slate him😬 two times we have player wolves this season and he’s been awful defensively both times vs us.

Wouldn’t expect anything else from them tbh, I don’t even bother reading any of the tit anymore. I can’t say the recent Chelsea losses haven’t made me happy though 🤣 humbled quite a few fans who thought they were unbeatable, no team is unbeatable.

curtis Jones has hardly had a kick all season, come on 😅He played well last week fantastic but you gotta do a whole lot more to make it into the England squad.

I honestly think that plays a big part - called up for reasons like their personality or that they’re captains for their clubs so seem to think there’s leadership to back their inclusions. There’s better defenders, Godfrey being one. Keane last season actually played really well and for some reason got dropped from England which impacted his form for us but I remember at the time thinking it was really weird that he’d been dropped…
 
I mean what’s annoying is this whole idea that good form will reward you when Gareth has picked players that are either not fit/injured enough or have had some bad form this season. I understand he’s always gonna pick Kane for example but he’s been poor this season. You’ve got players like Stones picked who hasn’t played a single minute. God knows what Jadon Sancho has done to deserve a call up. I’m going to sound incredibly bias because I’m about to mention a player that plays for my club again but there should be an element of reward for form. Demarai Gray - 3 goals, 1 assist been great for us. Townsend (yes he’s getting on but) has 4 goals 3 assists…. It’s just not consistent enough. They’re just examples anyway

I imagine if Shaw pulls out before Monday Chilwell might get called up Thriugh Soughtgate doesn’t seem to like him much and has told him to knucle down and get back to being a Chelsea starter. Trippier play for England at left back Half the time anyway.

Gray seems to be more interested in playing for Jamaica,

Bellingham is the one that baffles me the most too, has Gareth just forgotten about him in the Bundesliga? he has been on fire this season!

Also no Chilly? even though Shaw is a doubt? but 3 right backs?? ffs gareth
