Football Club Thread #3

Parish ( and Glasner himself to be fair) keep saying that Glasner is happy with the outgoings ( I’m totally not - I would have kept Ayew and ditched Edouard, and I’d rather have sold Guehi for £65M than lose Joa for £30M ).
If Eze even thinks about leaving I’m staging a one woman sit in in the Arthur.
Fear not..Parish has said that he'd have Zaha back in a flash if he were available...Please no.

I think Glasner will flounce off if the team disintegrates- literally and points-wise- no matter what he has said to the media. It's only the 2nd game though.

I think Glasner will 100% end up managing Bayern when Kompany inevitably effs up. And he’d have the chance to manage Olise in a decent squad.

I’m so torn about Zaha ( although I don’t think he’ll be back ). On the one hand, I don’t want him to taint his legacy - and let’s be honest his attitude stinks. On the other hand, having him to bring on for the last 20 minutes instead of Schlupp …..?

Personally I think it would be a mistake to bring back Zaha..again. A bit like Roy's somewhat tainted legacy.

Not looking forward to the Chelsea game after yesterday..

How are we all faring a few games in to the season // transfer window closing?

We have scored sevond and conceded three on the league. Knocked out of the EFL cup which is probably just as well given the lack of depth in our squad.

I wish we had signed a proper number 10 but we didn't do we so have to suck it up

We played some awesome football today and at times looked unstoppable. But of course ewe don't have a big lump at the centre of defence so often looked weak.

Onwards. 💙🤍💛👊🏻

How are we feelings about our club's start to the season given we are now about a third/quarter, depending on the league, of the season through?

I'm fairly satisfied with Leeds, we are joint top but Sunderland have played two more games than us.

Farke has worked out his starting 11 and we're playing with decent tactics. On Saturday we scored 3 goals in 8 minutes, which meant Farke could bring on 3 players for their debuts in the second half as Plymouth didn't even look like they were on the pitch. We have a player called Tanaka who is a maestro. It is amazing that we only paid £3.5m for him. He is definitely Premier League standard so hopefully January passes and he stays. Considering we lost the of our key players in the summer transfer window you wouldn't really know, I would even go so far as to say they aren't missed that much.

I am delighted with our start to the season because after we signed 16 players in the Summer I thought it would take us until Late October/Early November to fully gel as a team but I have to give a lot of credit to the manager as he has bought the best out of single every player and at the moment has got them firing on all cylinders as we are currently top with 30 points. Out of the 16 players that we signed in the Summer I can't knock any of them as they have all played well and have different aspects to their game which makes it hard for the opposition as they don't know who to mark and given that we have a lot of players it means that we can change it every week which also makes it hard for the opposition as they don't know what team we are going to put out because on some occasions this season the manager has made 5 changes.

Our season is going to tit..long term injuries now, when it all looked promising!

I will never understand why we gave Long a new contract and coincidentally, it was a few days before Gunn got injured!
