fully agree with this - it’s going to come back to bite ferrari imo (i hope i’m wrong but lewis just seems so checked out, and not just because of merc).

And then we have those Lewis moments - really wonder if the change and new challenge will change things for Lewis …after all he had two wins this year

but agree that he seems to be off - a bit like Seb and AM after been out of Ferrari (and the 1+1 contract offer from Toto feels a bit like the no new contract from Ferrari for Seb)

I‘m also looking forward to Lewis changing Ferrari for good - the limit on their drivers, the lack of diversity (even ratio of women / men) and so on

he can leave his mark on two teams and Ferrari is also the team of Niki

Since Susi is is just on about F1A - saw a TikTok earlier from someone who does Red Bull brand paddock guest service - and she mention that she always tries to be early in the F1A paddock as Tillbury has a make up counter for everyone - so seems it’s not only a wag opportunity

I think him being done is proportionate to chances of winning, I don't think he is done done, more discouraged because he is not dominant tbh and his identity was a winner exclusively for many years. I think as long as he will get a good car he will be fine and energised. I get what you mean though, I never thought ferrari and lewis pairing are an automatic guarantee of success and it is risky in a way that there are possible areas of clashing. he is such brand for himself he will not easily be ruled by their rules, if ever, when it comes to many things (especially his outside projects that ferrari limits for their drivers). I think as long as the car is good it will be fine but if the car is bad, I think it can go both ways, including going bad bad with both sides regretting it. But at the same time I cannot imagine him staying in Mercedes for another year.

Is the merc really that bad a car this season though? Lewis won twice in it, George has won twice in it (should have been three times but the weight issue). He should be energised this year as the car really isn’t that bad.

A bad workman always blames his tools comes to mind, Lewis is always very quick to moan but the car may not always be the problem- other drivers being more competitive may be the problem instead

and yes def more competition with basically four teams always in the mix and the field super close

and the fact he struggles in qualifying (do believe that it’s his driving style and hope Fred can sit him down and they can work that out) isn’t helping either the results

I know you are massive Mercedes fan Rayne , the car has been maybe not totally bad but moody all season though. and the fact that even the team cannot predict where it will be good or bad or was even surprised when it was good and didn't know why was a bit telling that the car concept as such is not like it used to be. I am not saying Lewis was mistakes-free, definitely not, and he can be a little diva and moody, but I feel clearly something is not working there in a team anymore ( lost all over the place when they stopped being a dominant car, and i think it has a lot to do also personally with Toto who had difficulty accepting that). it is more I think the matter of shelf life - to quote Toto - but not of anyone personally, but Lewis+Mercedes formula. Having said that, my hopes for fresh start in Ferrari are at this stage just hopes, drams and a bit of WDC delusion, I am not saying I believe it will be all great there

Exactly though they are on equal points so in the words of Nico they are in equal machinery. I just don’t feel like George even though he is a moany pony is on such a downer about the car like Lewis has been this season. Basically my point is put Lewis in a Ferrari, sure he will get some wins (same as he had this season) but I’m not expecting miracles and I don’t think it’s going to be the magic pill that some people expect it to be. He will be moaning about that Ferrari exactly the same next season as I don’t think it’s much more competitive than the merc

I don't think Lewis driving for Ferrari is going to achieve a dominant team the way they have been previously either. I expect a clash in terms of team ideas and his and it'll be interesting to see who wins that battle, I'm guessing Lewis will have Fred to fight his corner as well given their history together. Overall I'd expect more wins but if McLaren get their act together I'd expect them to take constructors and probably drivers next year.

I have no idea what George said on Friday but if he was moaning about the car then as I just said I know George is a moany pony, and I’ve called him out on here over the season too. Lewis is in another league with it and very despondent compared to George though. Too despondent for someone who has had wins this season and changing to a team that isn’t much better than merc won’t really change anything imo

But will be interesting to see if they learned from the mistakes they made with Seb joining, but then also Lewis didn’t seem to have a personal team around him at Mercedes in the last two years compared to Charles or Carlos (unless they stay out of the media) so will also be interesting - as it can be very lonely to join a work environment in a. New country when you don’t speak the language

Think some former Mercedes staff is working for Ferrari but I don’t think he has any personal team apart of his bodyguards with him since Angela left

a very angry Toto - but I‘m all in for Mercedes doing strategy and co totally wrong in the future

Ready for McLaren to hurt me. After a disappointing qualifying, it can surely only get better.
