As SVT are the official broadcasters and are reporting a physical confrontation I hope they won’t give into pressure and let him perform. Having a tragic backstory is no excuse for assaulting someone esp part of the production team just trying to do their job and I’d hope regardless of your feelings about Israel everyone would agree it’s worthy of disqualification.

It was from Dutch media ( so, you know )

There have been videos all over Twitter of an Israeli journalist indulging in some pretty bad behaviour - claims they are “going after”
Netherlands, Ireland, Greece and Spain.
This is an absolute shitshow. I’m putting my spangly catsuit back in mothballs until next year.

It's an awful situation and unfortunately there's no way the full truth will be known (via a thorough investigation) before the jury show can start.

Regardless of who is to blame, I feel the Netherlands will probably not return to Eurovision next year.
 
It's such a crying shame, I lived on three countries on the European continent and Eurovision was always intended to be that one show every year where most of Europe were sat watching the same thing.

It feels like the whole concept is slowly crumbling now. I don't think SM helps, back in the day it was simply an annual TV show.
 
This is tragic yet hysterical so many ESC related things giving me heart palpitations in the last week - Olly’s staging scare, Olly’s vocals, Israeli voting percentage, Joost’s alleged assault - ALL THIS FOR SOME ENTERTAINMENT

100% I’ve seen three accounts of this. A Spanish journalist went on the record as well today saying they were being intimidated in the press room too. UGH

We’re fighting a losing battle 😂

By all official accounts a Dutch man has physically attacked a Swedish woman yet it absolutely has to be Israel’s fault because they zoomed in on another contestant in a place where everyone was taking videos and pictures and some of their journalists were annoyed at others bullying their contestant - totally fine of course for journalists from other countries to harass Eden and be rude towards the Israeli delegation 🙄 Everything is all Israel’s fault, all of the time.

I think that the vast majority of delegates are avoiding the Israeli delegation like the plague because they don't want the 'bad press' of being seen with them. We know that there has been insane pressure on acts to speak out against Israel or boycott Eurovision.

Regardless of politics, it must be awful to come to Eurovision and be ostracized by everyone and barely let out of your hotel room except to rehearse/perform.

There are no winners here, none at all.

I hate this.
