Here you go, I’ve already filtered it on who voted for the UK both in the public and jury vote. It also shows who the UK voted for

This also shows that Australia gave the UK 7 points in the public vote even though their jury gave us nothing
Thank you! You're doing God’s work ❤️

I know, but it is so wasted....nothing good for several years now.
That's the same with us though. Until this year, we've put dull acts forward who are average singers and staged the thing terribly, but paid because the BBC gets huge ratings and a whole night of entertainment ( I cant imagine many people watched BGT on the other side) for not having to do very much overall. Maybe Germany will up their game.

England song was brilliant, very Freddie Mercury. (Bitchingly the singer reminded me of a muppet with very wide mouth)
Lithuania- my cup of tea, beautiful song
Ukraine- it was actually a great song
Spain and Romania - less arse action please.
Serbia - loved the song

And let's just change the name to world contest because I clearly mistaught my continents 😜

Technically it was the ideal result as realistically I’m not sure we really wanted to host it. We come away with the 2nd place to Ukraine who put in a decent song and we’re always going to win the public vote. No shame in coming 2nd this year. Sam seems a very gracious singer and was lovely to watch his excitement but also his support for other acts.

If we end up hosting next year on behalf of Ukraine, do we pay for it? Economy wise it will probably be insane though as 1000s attend the ESC so...

I've read that it's likely us or Germany to host. I think it will fall on my bday next year so if its here... May try attend lol

Some thoughts on the show, now I've caught up on the threads.

I could tell it was Ben from A1 singing for Norway, I recognised his voice from when I was an A1 fan as a tween 😁
Some random camerawork, I particularly liked the shot of the plastic white chair
Mika waving his mic in the general direction of Ukraine but not giving them it, and then saying "next up is Holland, no Poland!" was classic 🤣
The other male host in that green skintight suit jeezo 😳 I'd say I didn't know where to look, but I couldn't look anywhere else 🙈
Damiano saying "don't get close to the table" was great 🤣
The Australian jury not giving the UK any points was shady af :cautious: Don't be bitter guys, be better 😘
And finally, more Sam appreciation, Graham was so right when he said if you created the ideal Eurovision contestant in a lab it would be Sam. He has been brilliant, he has shut down all the 'Europe hates us' talk and shown that when you put in the effort you get the results. Love him ♥

Assuming Ukraine don't host, I'd like it to maybe go to Poland who have had the biggest number of refugees pass through (assuming they want it). It would be nice for it to be somewhere closer both geographically and culturally to Ukraine rather than parachuting it here. They would also gain in tourism because of it.

I see the reason for all those "can't get hold of x country" bits in the voting at the end was due to irregularities in the semi final voting so that was why they were read out by the exec instead. I'm sure we'll here more about that in the coming days.

And I see Boris Johnson has congratulated Sam Ryder?! Can you imagine? We'd have probably given him a knighthood if he'd won lol

Always a drama with that Maneskin bloke. Table last year, ankle injury this year.
Bet he's high maintenance.
Gorgeous bone structure though. Oh yes!

Italy, France, Spain, Germany and the UK finance most of it every year anyway.

Yeah I know that's why we kept getting automatic entry even though we were lucky to scrape a point for about 20 years 🤣

I've always loved the staging and lighting of it.
The technical expertise is amazing.
I love roadies and sound/light engineers.

This year's was my fave for a long time.

I love the bonkers-ness of it.
And the voting was so exciting this year.
It was great.

I just hope that wolf gets his banana.

I have learned that if Italy have any sense of humour, it doesn't translate well to English and the rest of Europe.
All their talky bits were terrible, very dull!

Did anybody notice that the lady host did a talky bit and she was super out of breath, just saying about five words and then having to take a breath over and over. And then after that she totally disappeared for an hour or so leaving Mika and Italian Dermot O'Leary to do most of the results. When she came back she mentioned she had got over-excited? Maybe went for a lie down for an hour after seeing Italian Dermot O'Leary's green morph suit. Or maybe she was off personally attending to Maneskin's knackered hip/leg or whatever he'd done to himself.

Who's joining me in trying to get a ticket for Mariupol next year? What a place for a Tattle meet up :D

I watched mostly alone yesterday and still it was a great time with you all, felt like a good chatty evening!

London would be a great venue. Get the big screens in the parks like the Olympics aswell. I'd be straight down there 😅

Germany hosted in 2010 near my hometown and I know some people who volunteered for it (like showing people the way, to their seats, etc). sounded like it was a blast, I'd try to get tickets if there's ever a city hosting within reasonable distance.

Wow that was such a great night, so much excitement. I'd forgotten what it was like to be excited at the voting stage.

Sam was a fantastic ambassador for our country 🥰 He's going to be a big star 🌟
Good luck to him and to the Ukrainian guys who will be returning home to fight for their country.

I was a bit surprised that Norway didn't do better because it was fun. The Spanish girl gave a great performance but I can't remember the song.

It was interesting that the jury votes were the opposite to the peoples vote in some cases:

Switzerland- juries liked it but no votes from the public
Serbia - low with the juries but high with the public
Australia- high with the juries but not so high with the public

Probably a massively unpopular opinion, but in these cost of living times could the thing not be rejigged to not be such a financial burden on the host? Even if that's just to encourage more tourism to the host to recoup the costs. The baftas are on the BBC and have sponsors I think?

In the grand scheme of things 15-20 million for a wealthy country to host it isn't much but still there seems to be some truth in countries not wanting to win it and have the expense.

---

In 2017, Kyiv (Ukraine) allocated 37 million euros. In 2015, Vienna (Austria) spent 32.8 million euros. In 2019, Tel Aviv (Israel) used €28.5 million. In 2018, Portugal (Lisbon) allocated 23 million euros. In 2021, Rotterdam (Netherlands) spent 19 million and in 2016 Stockholm (Sweden) spent 14 million.
