That poor kid, even his birthday looks boring and is clearly all about her rather then him already. Bet he won’t even be allowed some of that cake! And also, why would you buy your child a jumper that says mardy bum on? I think that’s a just a bit odd really, telling the word your son is grumpy! He’s probably only grumpy because she is as dull as duck.

I hate slogan tops like that
Chavvy and says more about the parents then the child anyway

She reminds me of my husbands mum who was also a teacher (retired now)
My husband always had to have “educational” presents for bday and Xmas. Always healthy option foods, very limited sweets, never allowed to chill around the pool on holiday, it was always mountain hikes and museum trips. No friends allowed over, not allowed to open Xmas presents til after lunch, basically no fun to be had ☹️
The worst one he said was his 16th birthday when he’d arranged to meet his pals after school and she wouldn’t let him go til all his homework was done!! And by the time that was over it was too late to go out so he stayed in all night doing nothing.
Needless to say he turned into a fairly rebellious young adult and hardly speaks to his mum these days. (He’s ok now - I tamed him 😆)
I hope Emma doesn’t go down that route cos it’s such a shame

Sounds like you're exactly describing Emma!
Your poor Husband!

ah your poor hsband!
she had to get him a Claus balance bike because she’s a Claus wife (how 1950s) 🙄obviously didn’t research best balance bike, just got it because of the brand. She won’t be able to let poor little James get up to full speed on that thing without a brake! My 2yo goes down bike ramps now and has learnt to use a break. But then a gain that’s a bit too like fun for our Emma!!

I can't see her letting him use it properly if at all!

A while ago she went to the zoo and brought James some wooden animals in the gift shop. But they were obviously for her really, in that story of the presents on the chair they are up on a shelf way out of his reach

It's because she doesn't let him play without it being organised.
He has to play with what she puts infront of him. He can't just go get out whatever he wants
