But friendship should never be about how much money you've got. Compared to some of our friends we're absolutely brassic, they have better jobs and more disposable income. If they were to come here for a weekend to stay, they'd get what we could afford, not what would be expected to keep up with the Joneses and they would be happy with that, because its about the company not what we've got.I think compared to some of Emma's friends they probably are seen as the paupers of their social set. They have been brought up with financial and educational privilege but she still wants to be seen as relevant and relatable.
I think she is a bit lost. Her life seems to me really boring. Desperate to appear wacky and interesting with the purple hair and eyeliner flicks for the school run and then hiding in the car because she can't face putting the washing away.
She seems quite lonely, and always comes across as trying too hard to impress. If someone doesn't like me, that's their choice, I couldn't care less and I refuse to change to fit in or be liked by everyone, but it seems like she cares far too much about the opinions of others.
