I dont understand, the dining table is right by the island which also has chairs round it... Why? Also omg the mismatched chairs, office chairs and a bench, it doesnt even look like dining room stuff, i dont get the thinking behind this.

Oh wow ive just seen this, before and after, wtf have they done, they've destroyed a beautiful house, this is disgusting! I get why everyone was calling it a shipping container 🤮
Money doesn’t buy taste!

What on earth???? Maybe on some homes this look might work but most decidedly NOT on the Norris home. I know taste is a personal thing but the extension just look incongruous. Just no Emily. No.

Seeing the original plans I thought this was going to be the kitchen of dreams however it’s not, so mismatched not at all like a family kitchen imagine having the money and loads of freebies plus an interior designer and coming up with this , it’s a lot better than my small cheaply made social housing kitchen so this is not jealousy I genuinely thought this would be enviable but the styling is rubbish I am not in the least envious just gobsmacked at the awful table and seats and the one wooden cabinet nothing flows just looks mismatched 🤷‍♀️
The extension is pretentious and ugly .

Ugh the kitchen.

What is the point of putting a gigantic island bench and chairs, cm’s away from a huge dining table? The whole point of kitchen stools is so you can sit there when you’re dining room is in another room??

It would have been better to make that playroom a beautiful dining room, and then leave the open space in the kitchen for the boys.

The conservatory they had was so beautiful. I can’t believe they ripped it down to add on a shipping container. The kitchen also only has that tiny window?? Why did they do glass all long to look out to the yard?

It’s all kinds of wrong. Such a bad design.

It dawned on me today that her extension/ kitchen design is very American in style. It would fit well in a big family home in the US. Our house in the US was average size by American standards but HUGE to me (3500 sq feet!). It was very open plan and had a big island and a dining table and chairs, plus a seperate dining room ( that barely got used!). That pantry is very US style too. She’s obviously looked at lots of American Youtubers/Instagram account to get ideas, if you ask me. Perhaps she’s hoping to increase her US viewers.
Its just so BLAND. She’s gone for MASSIVE space with no idea on how to fill it and apparently neither does Ginger Nest interiors!

That external shipping container look can look good on some houses but definitely not this one.

So many design flaws at a glance. The island is too big, the tiny window, the colours make it look unfinished, retaining the stove with the brickwork seems to jar with rest of it.
The beanbags in the playroom - what if they have friends over?
Why did she put Grandad in a bunk bed instead of one of the boy’s double beds?

Emily thinks that Ginger Nest Interiors are brilliant for choosing that Rattan shade to go over the Bath?!!! Okaaaayyyy…..
The tub is nice, the shade is hideous and is the shower enclosure really gold/brass coloured?!!! How awful! That’s SO dated! Yep…. Another mish mash of ideas with no cohesion or design. Even tho’ they used an ‘interior designer’!
