Educating Greater Manchester

I haven't watched yet - didn't realise there was a new series!

I do kind of wish they'd picked a different area though? One of the things I love about the original run was how each season was a different school/area, so you only had so many episodes with that group of students and then just the update at the end.

They must’ve really thought Povey was a star to do two series there- they’ve never done that before. Though they did give the Educating Essex VP a spin off.

There is something about Mr Povey I don’t quite like but I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is. Just something about his personality that I’m not keen on, he doesn’t seem entirely genuine on the show.

He thinks he’s god’s gift to teaching. He’s the first teacher to try being “mates” with these students and be on their “level” typical SLT, not in the trenches, attitude.

Just been watching the 3rd episode and just when I thought I couldn’t be more shocked!! You are so right, thinking he is pally with them, getting one of the year 11s to be in on his stand against headphones and then showing up when a girl was changing her pretend baby.... because the head teacher would just show up and be on hand to do that ?!
I’ve found this whole series a bit like a spoof! So odd.
