Just been watching some old clips on TikTok and noticed the houses for some reason. I stopped watching for a few years but how come the Slaters live in what I think of as Bianca’s house? And is the slaters old house where Jack and Denise live?

I tried looking online but got confused further.

The Slaters was burned down by Alfie and made into flats.
The Taylor’s live there

I find the whole new set very weird anyway cause I'm very into the classic episodes and everything is just... Bigger. I know decoration and that changes (as it should) but Pauline Fowlers house has gained a lounge area, the cafe is like double the size and even the bit between the bar in the Vic and the tables and chairs is different! I could go on and I'm aware it's stupid but it's actually why I couldn't get back into it for ages.
All it took was a dead body at Christmas flash forward to pique the interest and then finally Cindy Beale back from the dead but it still irks me watching the eps.

Pauline’s house in old episodes had a wall between the rooms.
The Beale’s knocked it down to make one big room. The room you never see is the Beale’s lounge now

But it's somehow remained with all the same bedrooms it had before?
They definitely have made things bigger than they were, regardless, or have I finally lost my mind? 🙈🤣

I get what you mean. It does look bigger

Why do the Fowler’s and Beale’s never ever use their front door?
It's a bit mad that isn't it? Even on the older ones they barely did. Only if someone who didn't know they came to the door and they *rarely* showed them going to the front door to let them in. Maybe just due to the way the sets were made up but I have noticed that too 😅

They presumably did make the set bigger.

The Corrie set was made much bigger - the original set was quite small.
It just irks me sometimes is all. But I'm aware it's a stupid thing to notice. I think it is just cause I'm deep into the classic episodes on drama and have been for years so it's incredibly noticeable to me. They were adding bits out of nowhere even before this new set haha.

I don't watch corrie though. What is it with these established soaps moving sets it's like disrespectful! 🤭 Kidding... But still 🤣

I know exactly what you mean and I notice it the very odd time that I see a clip of Corrie. 😁
(I was a devoted soap fan for many years but have dropped most of them now.)

I absolutely love the classic episodes.

Ohmygod I'm so glad it's not just me and you know what I mean! 😅

also how doWhitney and Chelsea afford that house? It looks huge.
A tale as old as time - how are they all struggling for rent/mortgage but always in the Vic 🤣

i’m sure it was mentioned that gray had paid off the mortgage and agreed for chelsea (and the baby who is usually a pile of blankets) to stay in the house after he’s gone to prison. i think whitney just moved in for company and to help with baby blankets. i could be remembering that conversation wrongly though.

makes me mad though because that is mack and mia’s house by rights!!

The Slaters house was number 23, which is now flats with the Taylor’s/Bakers in the top flat.

Stacey & co now live in number 31, which was the old vicarage/Phil’s house, it’s the opposite end of the same terrace as 23.

I might be hallucinating, but I’m sure I have a memory of there being a bedroom downstairs at the Beales when Jane was in a wheelchair. There was still a front room as well. Anyone else remember?

Also, who lived next door to Stacey before creepy Theo moved in?

I'm so glad we're talking about houses because I am always SO conufused about who lives where/what house is what. I even went down a rabbit hole a few weeks ago looking at bloody maps of the square online but they were all out of date.

I didn't realise the Brannings house was now flats - I wondered why nobody was in that house - why have they turned so many into flats? I presume to get more characters in

I was just looking at this - Max and Tanya's house converted into FIVE flats? I don't think so. It wasn't that big surley?
