Drag Race UK S5

i liked all the top 4 queens so i was happy with whoever winning, Tia absolutely deserves the win but i did think she was set up with a 'glow up to winner' storyline. i think the final challenge should've been the song and performance/music video though as i don't think the lip sync for the crown format worked for who ru/production wanted as the top 2. the way they edited the first two lip syncs (especially the first one) was ridiculous, i feel like i saw the judges more than Marina and you cannot tell me that she didn't even match Hannah

I wonder what the budget difference is between Tia's orginal drag race outfits and uk vs the world outfits?

They definitely had a right glow up.

I got into a discussion in work about Bimini and how I thought it verged on cheating how they had a total glow up after the covid break. My co-worker said you had to take every advantage you could.

I didn't agree. All the other queens were complaining about having no work and being skint and here is bimini turning up with a new wardrobe and wigs. Wonder how they managed to finance it during covid???

I think a lot depends on perhaps how quickly and well queens could pivot. A lot moved to things like drag bingo online, drag workouts, online shows etc. As workplaces were looking for social events to bring their remote staff together, there were potentially a lot of opportunities if you jumped on it quickly and managed to market yourself well. I have no idea if Bimini did this (I know there was a documentary about what at least some of them did over Covid but can't remember Bimini featuring specifically), but I can see how potentially you could end up with an income from drag with fewer outgoings in terms of socialising etc.

I've also read that you don't get that much time to prep for drag race in terms of outfits and knowing what to bring, the thing with Covid is it gave them what, probably nearly a year to work on zhuzhing up what they had?

The person I felt worst for was Joe Black who had been eliminated and had no idea they would be coming back.

I thought Tomara was Katie Price at a quick glance
