How utterly gross for the poor guys family who was murdered.

I found it addictive watching, I recommend it to friends and they ask what it's about because of the weird title and all you can say is its fucked up, so easy to give story away.

It escalated pretty quickly that's for sure
 
I finished it tonight. Deanna and John were amazing. I couldn’t believe how deluded his Mum was. Describing him as a young boy? He is a psychopath! Felt very sad for Lin Jun’s friends and family. Magnotta should not allowed to get married etc in prison. His Wikipedia page makes interesting reading especially the part about his Mum.
 
I did some googling after watching and there were reddit threads and stuff from and about him from years ago.

I had to look away at the clips of the actual cat videos etc. I also read he’s not access to internet in prison so would never see the show etc but he met his husband on some internet prison dating site?
 
Just binged it on a recommendation, had actually quit True Crime as entertainment thanks v much Netflix - profiting and exonerating y’allselves there at the end I see you - quite the internet strange eh.

I wondered if Manny was some sort of manifestation of psychosis and it seems his father was diagnosed schizophrenic and Luka (er Eric) had some diagnosises himself. Not to excuse him on any level the sick vain monster- it just interests me, personality disorders are fascinating.

Was the Basic Instinct stuff a bit of a stretch? I mean to the point of focussing onthe cigarette and the leg crossing in the interview room.

So Netflix going to stop making True Crime I assume - having just devoted 3 long episodes to a creature craving notoriety thus giving him notireity.

Remember Jun Lin - that should be the focus I reckon.

I thought "Manny" might have been some alter ego / other personality as well.
 
I've had to work with diagnosed psychopaths. Most of them live normal lives. However watching the documentary brought up 2 patients I knew. When Luka keeps staring at himself fixing his hair even after he killed his victim .. They where like this it was terrifying! It's obviously a hard illness to treat but his mother let him leave when he was 15 so no discipline at home + psychopath.. this was bound to happen.

So interesting to see how intelligent he was though. Very sick individual.

1 - no discipline

2 - She was terrified of him ! Psychopaths always run the household. Always.
He had her wrapped around his little finger !

I think it goes beyond a lack of discipline. The mother is nuts. She probably reinforced some of his behaviour and grandeur.....
 
I wondered if his behaviour escalated because he found his audience on line. Might Jun Lin still been alive if the kittens video had gone unnoticed?

Upon reading a few forums online apparently the second hands were the neighbours who owned the snake. She took the snake over to his house but didn’t realise he was going to feed it a cat until she arrived and it was too late.

No but I mean lack of discipline clearly his whole life he ran the house and she didn't parent him at all which is why he ended up becoming a murderer. When psychopaths aren't helped at a young age this is what can happen.

If you want to go down a crazy rabbit hole.. there's speculation he's still posting online from prison, on reddit. Multiple posts that are extremely unhinged and admin have even been removing some because everyone thinks it's either him or his mother.

I went down it over the weekend and my mind is blown!

If you search his name on Reddit and do some digging you'll find it all.
