I remember another it was about teen mums. This girl was 12/13 and wanted to be a mum! She had sex once with a boy begins the bike sheds and got pregnant. I can’t remember her name she was blonde and just kept literally reproducing. Her mum looked after the two kids she had by 16 and she’d got pregnant again on a night out. By 17 she had 3 kids.
I think She was on Britain’s youngest parents. Her name is Courtney Cassidy I think. I remember watching it in 2004 when it first came out and I was shocked she had 3 kids at 17!

Murdered by my family : The murder of banaz mahmod
Which can be found on youtube. Its the crime documentary (not the drama with keely hawes) you need to see.
Warning: Not for the faint hearted.
😔 Truly heartbreaking

That poor girl went through hell. I’ve just watched a documentary on iPlayer about a a girl from Bradford who was killed by her family in a ‘honour killing’- heartbreaking.

John George Haigh aka 'The acid bath killer'
I knew it the minute you said acid.
If I remember correctly, it was the body of Mrs Durand Deacon that caught him out because of her gallstones.
He firmly believed that if there was no body, then he'd literally get away with murder.
Yes thats him! I wasnt sure if it was a dream id had or something i had really watched.

I remember something like this where they got a baby then a toddler then an older child. My friend’s toddler was part of it. She was literally through the wall if needed watching on a screen. Her son was fine. She was pretty chilled too x

Yes this was it!!! It wasn’t that long ago but I just can’t imagine them letting them have other people’s babies now 😂

It’s 2007 it’s about a home invasion in that goes drastically wrong. The invaders rape the mom and tie the kids to the beds and set the house on fire. It was honestly unsettling.
You can watch the whole doc on YouTube. I’ll post the link here for anyone that’s interested.

is it an American crime ?

A documentary called BBC Poor Kids, still available on YouTube. It followed three families with children all around 8-10 years old who were all living in poverty on various areas of the UK. The recent issues with free school meals has made me think of those kids, and all the others around the UK, a lot this week. Mainly because I don’t think people truly understand the depravity that some people in Britain face.
The kids would all be 18 ish now, and it just makes me wonder what happened to them.
Just watched this. Completely agree with what you said - I personally also had no idea so many people lived in these conditions and I grew up in a not wealthy northern town. I cried most of the way through. The state of those houses they had to live in will stay with me forever, especially the Glasgow flat. The older kids were all so bright and insightful also so devastatingly grown up before their time and aware of how desperate their situations were.

Two have really stuck in my mind:

the first was about Terri Calvesbert (sorry for spelling) who had been badly burned in a fire accidentally started by her Mum. Her Dad was such a good man.

The second was a ‘No Going Back’ with a strange, Barbie-type woman who convinced her very normal husband to buy an island off the coast of Nicaragua. It went very very wrong.
I’m wondering if this is the same programme where they were attacked by pirates and it turned out that she left her husband for one in the end?

I watched a doc where they'd filmed an injured soldier from the falklands war being flown back to a hospital in england. His body and face had severe burn injuries. There was no warning for the audience back then and it showed him being taken into a bathroom. The camera crew were outside the bathroom and the next minute you could hear him screaming in pain as he was lowered into the bath. Never heard anything like it. Even tho you couldn't see what was happening I'll never forget the screaming.

He is a welsh chap and his name is Simon Weston if you want to google

There's a few classics here!

The Damien Nettles one on bbc 3 a few years ago was good, I always got the impression that its one of those where they know with 99% certainty who did it (the drug dealer) but just cant pin it on him, and he's dead.

Holiday showdown was an absolute classic, one that sticks out in my mind is one with a quite hip mixed race family, the mum of whom is originally from Jamaica, and they have to go to Dollywood with some bloody awful woman who is a massive Dolly Parton fan. The jamaican family are bored rigid and piss about all day and the Dolly parton woman absolutely blows her top at them, iirc the kick off all takes place at a green screen attraction where you get digitally inserted into a dolly parton video which just made it even funnier. Did anyone ever see it? I've never found the full episode online.

Dogging Tales and My Reborn Baby are other great ones, I\ve heard sooo many people talk about the porn star buying the island thing on CHannel 4 but I don't think I saw it at the time i'd love to watch it now.
I am watching the Damien Nettles one now, and it is gripping. I agree that I believe it was the drug dealer now dead.

A true crime documentary aired around 15 years ago. I remember the woman was on the phone to the police about an intruder being in her house, and as she was speaking on the phone with them, the intruder/man was slowly coming down the stairs in the background. And she was terrified, knowing the intruder will get to the bottom of her stairs before the police arrive.

I don't know why, but this gave me lots of nightmares 😂 😭

Would love to wa
Castaway 2000- They sent a group of people (families and singles) to live on an island in Scotland for a year as a social experiment and to build a community.

I can't remember the name, but probably about 15 years ago I watched a documentary about the religious conflicts in Ireland and it always stuck with me. I just remember the last shot was of them filming down a road and all the houses had been burnt and damaged.
Would love to watch that. Do you know which channel and the name of the show? Many thx

I haven’t gone far through this thread but did anyone watch the Mummification of Alan Billis? I think it was a ch4 one a few years back. He was a taxi driver who donated his body for modern day mummification and it followed his journey right from interviews with him and his wife prior to his death and the mummification process. It was incredible , I’ve tried to find it a few times to rewatch but no luck plenty of articles online about it though . Amazing man
Yesss!!
