I remember watching a documentary years ago about a 19 year old guy who said he was A-sexual and so wanted to be castrated. He had to travel to another country to do it and the documentary was all about whether he would go ahead with it. If I remember rightly he did and I often wonder if he now regrets it. He was so young and seemed to me like he was struggling with his sexuality rather than being a sexual as he claimed.
no idea what it was called or what channel it was on so I’m extremely vague here 😂

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I watched this documentary on sky recently called there's something wrong with aunt diane... god it haunts me. It did give a warning for 'graphic' scenes (it's about a large car accident with no apparent cause) but I wasn't expecting the ending. It's stayed with me ever since.
On a brighter note, I loved the Fyre festival documentary on netflix! I watched it on my own & then forced my boyfriend to watch it with me again, loved it!

I did the same with Fyre. When my husband got home I made him watch it with me again. I felt so sorry for all the local people that didn't get paid.

Now we're in another lockdown I may watch it again 😂 yes me too, I hope that documentary shed some light for them & hopefully it got rectified in some way! The fact it came crashing down with one picture of cheese and toast will probably make me laugh forever

Did anyone watch the documentary about people living in the underground in Las Vegas/New York? Think it was on youtube can't seem to find it.
Yes I’ve seen that! That was really good.

It’s called sidewalk hotel

I know there was a go fund me set up to raise money for the lady who had paid some of the workers herself and she got paid back.

I remember a documentary years ago, I was very young myself when it was on but it was about a young girl who was abused by her parents and they filmed it all I think they found the tapes in the loft and in one she was suspended from the ceiling and abused. I was never able to get the image out of my head and I often wonder what happened to her 😞

That sounds horrific! 💔

Just watched there's something wrong with Aunt Diane after seeing you mention it. It was so sad. I don't know what to make of it really. The poor children 😓

I’ve seen this as well it’s was very sad but quite strange from memory as in it didn’t all add up. Wasn’t the father of the children defending her but the toxicology report said she had been drinking? I’ll have to watch it again.

I watched Louis Theroux drinking to oblivion last night after I saw it mentioned here. I felt so sad for Joe and I found him on Instagram he recently relapsed and had been trying to raise funds to go into detox again 🙁

Yes, it was strange. The husband was defending her but I think he knew more maybe than he let on. Especially when the sister in law was chasing up the Private Investigator for test results and he confirmed the results had already been sent to the husband. The husband clearly didn't want to share that and I think he was in denial as part of his coping mechanism. I was shocked when the husband did confirm that she smoked pot. It sealed it for me then that the autopsy results were right. I think she drank the vodka but I'm not sure why. Things like this facinate me.

I love documentaries, so will definitely check out some mentioned on here.

Blackfish definitely stuck with me.
Louis Theroux America's Most Hated Family.
There's another Louis series recently - one was about End of Life care and another about Polygamy. Both fascinating.
A Mockumentary by Simon Amstel called Carnage is brilliant too.

The Louis one about polygamy - I remember one of the husbands seemed like he was quite sad about his wife wanting more partners, but he went along with it anyway.

I’ve been thinking about the fact that we’re on this forum remembering one particular little boy from a tv documentary which focussed on lots different children 21 + years ago ... I have tried to do some googling to see if Aaron is remembered anywhere else online but haven’t found anything. I can only imagine that it would indeed bring some comfort to his loved ones that all this time later, strangers still remember their wee boy who left the world so young.

I remember him too and think about him whenever children's hospitals are mentioned. I was about 9 or 10 and remember crying reading the 'update' at end of programme. Was he liverpudlian?

I can't believe no one has mentioned the very highbrow

MONKEY BABIES: Channel 4 documentary where people dressed their pet monkeys up as babies and took them to the shops

and

FAT GIRLS AND FEEDERS: documentary about larger ladies whose partners (feeders) encouraged their very unhealthy eating habits by buying them sh1t and literally feeding it to them. One woman had got so large she could no longer leave the house.

Quality TV. Anyone remember these?!
