Documentaries you have seen and still think of to this Day #2

I had to watch that documentary in college. Very harrowing 😣
Do you think there was a sexual element to the abuse? Wayne especially seemed to be getting off on the power trip and at one point he smacked Simon's BARE backside. Then the other carer grabbed on of the girls by the neck and called her a gif.

I remember Paddington Green. I also remember a documentary series in the early to mid nineties about a housing estate in Hackney. It used to go out on Sunday nights.

Sorry if its been mentioned but has anyone seen the doc on youtube called "My Sister, the Geisha".
Its about hostessing in Japan western girls going over I have never heard of this before it was in the early 2000's.
Nowadays its Dubai girls go to make money doing this type of work.
I would love an update on Kat and the girls its only a short doc. It also brought me to the doc the murder of Lucie Blackman I'm still not right after it just so shocking and it made me so angry.

I watched this documentary last night after it came up on my homepage suggestions. A very good but sad documentary. I just can’t imagine living like that. This was filmed in 2005 and he is still alive today!

I haven’t seen the documentary, but I did read the book his wife wrote. I still have the book and I think a re-read is in order.

A documentary about Joanna Yeates who was murdered by her neighbour. Her body was discovered on Chsitmas day. I'll never forget how stoic and dignified her parents were in dealing with such unbearable mental torture and grief.
What stuck by me about this was the fact that the poor landlord got anihilated by the press because he was a bit strange

Does anyone remember this? Quite un-nerving that people are so sick minded.

Omg I was just thinking about this the other day randomly. Yes I remember it, it was horrible. I’m sure I read something sinister (more sinister than shown) about him after I watched it, I’ll search tomorrow. Horrible.

I’ve just finished watching Welcome to Chechnya. It was really dramatic. It was about the gay purge in Chechnya and was filmed secretly with loads of hidden camera footage including late night rescues and escapes. It was so harrowing. There’s also a twist near the end of it which explained a lot of things to me and it was the first time I’d ever seen it in a documentary. I won’t spoil it but it’s really clever. It’s BBC4 so should be on iplayer.

Married to the Eiffel Tower. That was a ride 😂

i haven’t seen a documentary about that, but I did read about her and if it’s the same woman I remember that she either cheated on Eiffel with the Berlin Wall (or the other way around) and she was racked with guilt 🫥 (ooh, I’ve just noticed I have new emojis on my phone) 🫣🫠🫤🫶🏽🫵🏽🦾🫀👩🏽‍🎤🧑🏽‍🎤🥷🏽

Ive just watched Libby: Are you home yet? on Sky crime (its on catch up too).

So may questions. Theyve got the guy turning into a street which led down to a park and out again 14m later. They did tests with a weighted dummy to see how he could have carried her to where she was found and that took 8m. So he had 6m to rape, murder and drive down and from the park. Its mad.

Other than that, one that really stuck in my head was Keep sweet, Pray and Obey about the Fundamentalists of the Latter Day Saints church and how they abuse their congregation.

I just watched a documentary called 'Relentless' on Discovery+. A filmmaker is drawn into the intriguing and strange world of the family of a missing woman in Hannibal Missouri, Christina Whittaker. As the search continues, director Christina Fontana (the filmmaker) finds herself becoming obsessed with finding her young namesake - to the point of putting herself in danger.

I watched this last year....its defo a documentary series that makes ya go 'wtf' so many twists that leave your mouth open and ya have to hit pause to take in the information. Anyone who's into crime documentaries should watch this one.
