The thing with the hip hop industry is it is genuinely more vulnerable than others to having its stars murdered for the simple reason that hip hop was invented as a way to catalogue street life and protest Black oppression. And many of its stars started out life in the streets, gang affiliated or even fully blooded in. How many rappers have been assassinated over the past few decades? We've got Pac, Biggie, Pop Smoke, King Von, Young Dolph, Foolio, FBG Duck, Big L...the list is so huge it's got its own Wikipedia page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_murdered_hip_hop_musicians
Also drugs are a bit part of rappers' stories because many of them are traumatised from street life, again how many rappers OD'd? Gangsta Boo (Queen of Memphis RIP), Lord Infamous, Ol Dirty Bastard, Edott Baby, Big Scarr, Enchanting...
These death rates are way above any other avenue of the entertainment industry, I'd say the death rate for rappers probably even exceeds the US army. And so many of them try but fail to break free of their gang past, so they get extorted, threatened, bribed, shot at etc etc.
So given this endemic level of danger, cold a guy like Diddy with known gang ties order some rivals or people who wanted to expose him, to be permanently disappeared? And could he do it in such a way as to keep his hands clean the the famous six degrees of separation from judicial accountability? Sure he could. The question is not Why Would He, but Why Would He Not?
