I've never had a problem detaching artist from art, I listen to C-Bo and King Von ffs :ROFLMAO: And many, many African American artists still love and shout out to Michael Jackson.

My personal view is that once a piece of art is made and released into the world, it becomes a thing with a life of its own, separate from the artist, which the consumers of the art can recieve and consume as they wish. I was having this convo with my daughter actually who is very much of the view that an artist's work should no longer be consumer if that artist turns out to be, in her words 'a crappy person' and I just think that's illogical, we are all crappy people to a greater or lesser extent and if you want perfect artists then what you'll get is bland art.

I said to my daughter what if evidence comes to life that William Shakespeare used to hit Ann Hathaway? Do we junk Hamlet and Lear and Romeo and Juliet? And all derivatives thereof? At what cost to the culture?

I don't give a tit about Kanye I have always thought he was overrated and have remained on 50 Cent's side throughout, lol. 50 Cent is looking like a hero now after years of calling Diddy a diddler. But I am seated waiting for Jay-Z's downfall. You don't rap that you're better than Biggie and expect to get away with it not in my brain anyway :ROFLMAO:

If you like Fantasea then you NEED to listen to her most recent project, Slay-Z. It bleeping SLAPS harder than Will Smith and Chris Rock on meth.

Also if you like that Renaissance style heavily queer-coded club music/hip hop mash-up, then may I highly recommend our very own homegrown London queens, Bree Runway and ShyGirl. Both awesome and need more attention.

Same, him saying his mumma was his karma, he had a guilty conscience, diddy and others are made of other stuff to just keep going and going, it feels more like Kanye had a normal reaction to doing something awful.

There's a bit of the lawsuit in the video I just posted above that goes into this. His ex assistant who filed it said Kanye would go through phases of shame where he decided he needed to repent. In these phases he became obsessed with God, told women they needed to cover up - no mid riffs, no heels. No one around him was allowed to swear or drink. It would last a few weeks, then he'd go straight back to debauchery.

When he realised he was getting back lash it was all a joke. It's the start of the video is very telling when she starts with Hi I'm a Gemini or whatever birth sign she is, like a dating site and he panics a little... Also Balengica (I can't spell it) look at the photos hoot they did last year with the children and BDSM. Major major red flag and how the celebrities are still supporting them.
 
I remember hearing at one point Kanye being vocally anti- porn. I am guessing this was when his conscience was bothering him and he was trying to follow a "new path".

I have always been creeped out since his "I feel like me and taylor might have sex" and then putting a double of her in his video nude. It felt like he was trying to psuedo-sexually assault her. Like he knew he couldn't physically do it, but he wanted to exert control in a sexual way over her.
