Another really good true story drama from ITV. Captivating story of such an evil man.

Superb performances from the always brilliant David Tennant, Jason Watkins, and Daniel Mays.

Now I knew they'd done a good job of making Tennant look like Nilsen, but there's footage of the real Dennis Nilsen being interviewed and I'm amazed how well Tennant has captured his mannerisms etc. Obviously he will have studied this clip over and over but still I'm impressed.

Loved it. Well done ITV and all involved in making it. Hope it wins a pile of awards.

I have loved this! David Tennant, Jason Watkins and Daniel Mays. One of the best dramas I have watched in a while. They left out all the nitty gritty, but it’s based on the book ‘Killing for Company’. I think Tennant will definitely be up for a BAFTA next year. So interesting to hear from friends that they didn’t know Nielsen was Scottish!

Watched the first episode tonight and hooked! I know he’s Scottish but he nails the Fraserburgh accent, it’s hard to mimic!
Ah, I’m not up on my different Scottish dialects! My parents are Irish, so I can tell the difference between counties even though I was born and bred in London 😂
It was so good and kept me gripped even though I knew the outcome. David Tennant is such a great actor!

Ah sorry, missed this and started a thread. Totally agree with everything you said. I hadn’t watched Nielsen being interviewed until this week and watched a few. David really incapsulates the persona and horror of Nielsen. I thought it was brilliant.

That was so good!

I need to read a bit more now though, I was only 3 or 4 at the time do know very little about it.

Was he a necrophile? There seems to be conflicting opinions. And I was so shocked his first murder turned out to be a 14 year old boy, not Stephen Sinclair (though the poor boy was called Stephen too).

He wasn't as truthful as he claimed with the cops, was he. That will be serial killers for you, unreliable 🤷

David Tennant played a blinder there.

Scarily looking like Dennis Nilsen - I bet he couldn’t wait to come out of make-up.

I remember when this all unfolded back in 1983, I was 18 and it was such a shocking crime, still is. Those poor victims.
