Derry Girls

Anyone else feel/notice there may have been a falling out amongst the cast?

Noticed especially during the making of Series 3 that it seems to be Saoirse/Jamie-Lee are close knit and Nicola/Dylan/Louisa in the other group and they rarely acknowledge each other. They used to comment on each other's Instagram posts and wish each other Happy Birthday but that's all stopped.

Just something I picked up on...

I think there was a lot of issues with getting the cast together for filming. So a lot of weird scenes that seem to have been filmed in two parts. I didn’t really sense a falling out. I don’t wish ex workmates a happy birthday.

I'm referring to when they were still workmates, it all suddenly stopped as they were making Series 3 was my point.

There used to be loads of polaroid pictures of them as a group and commenting on each other's posts etc and it stopped overnight and now the two groups appear to ignore each other completely. Just seems curious to me.

I feel like Nicola has moved on ever since she starred in Bridgerton but maybe I am wrong

Nicola has posted herself with Dylan and Louisa since they finished filming Derry Girls, they spent Pride together for example. I imagine she is very busy as she will be a lead character in season 3 of Bridgerton.

Saoirse and Jamie are clearly good friends as they've been to Ibiza and New York together recently.

You also have to remember that Saoirse and Jamie are both Derry girls as well, something else extra to bond them. Some people gravitate to certain people more, no drama. I don’t think that particularly was the issue with the last series either, a combination of shooting clashes and over acting was the clear problem there.

They're friends IRL they were at school together ,they socialise together .

I agree, it comes across as if she felt she was bigger than the show (Derry Girls). Her social media is wall to wall Bridgerton and there was very little mention of Derry Girls as Series 3 was airing in comparison to previous series.
I think the same, but then she was not happy about having her scenes limited in Derry Girls because she was filming elsewhere. I get the impression her success may have gone a teeny bit to her head.

I would agree with the comments saying that certain people just gravitate towards each other more than others. I never sensed any sort of tension (obviously the only ones who know the truth are the cast/crew themselves but it's fun to speculate as a fan) in their acting, interviews or social media. Like someone else mentioned, Saoirse and Jamie are from Derry so culturally and proximity-wise it makes sense that they're together more often. I'm excited to see who Saoirse plays in The Flash! So cool to see one of the Derry Girls in a big franchise film.

As for Nicola, I like her though I do agree her acting was annoyingly OTT this season. She's not entirely to blame as she's not the showrunner or writer or director so someone could have easily told her to tone it down but didn't. As for her in real life, I think her personality is really fun and she knows how to use social media to her advantage. I find her content engaging and it definitely helps that she's on a show like Bridgerton, boosting her popularity and recognition. Sure if you were virtually an unknown face struggling as a waitress just a few years ago and now you're suddenly in the spotlight and attending events with A-list stars and getting dressed in designer clothes, wouldn't there be an extra spring to your step?

Nicola Coughlan comes across as a complete dose, I bet she's in Barbie for 10mins max, yet she would have you believe she's up there in the billing with Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling
I’m surprised she’s the one to be the break out actress from the show, which I quite like because she’s older and not the conventional size that most actresses are.
