From what I see in the photo she has had her first molar extracted and the second molar has moved forward due to bone loss.
Our first molars are the most important adult teeth as they provide jaw support and we use them to chew most of our food. If the missing 1st molar is not replaced surrounding teeth move in order to support normal function of the jaw, neighbouring teeth super erupt because they try to compensate for the missing tooth and this often causes gum inflammation/ gum disease, in most e cases some form of malocclusion occurs, the patient is also at risk of bone resorption or bone loss which is natural because without teeth to support that area of your mouth, your gums and jaw bone begin to deteriorate as there is no stimuli. The bone loss will also cause your cheeks and lips to look sunken in. I work at a dental practice and unfortunately most of our patients only think of the implants as a treatment for cosmetic purposes i.e when they are missing a front tooth. The purpose of a dental implant is to provide jaw support and replace root of the missing tooth and the crown helps for aesthetics of course
Oh my god! This is so interesting, I'm petrified of the dentist as literally let that one go to the point that I opted to have it out, I'm worrying now about it 😂

Happy Halloween, cherubs 🧙‍♀️
