Thank you - I know my GP surgery sent me quite a few texts when the first vaccines were being offered (slightly annoying when I'd already had them via the Novavax trial) but haven't heard anything this time around. Not going to look too much into it - will just wait. I know my mum has been offered her next booster, she's 63 but she has cancer so that's probably why

Yes I think you're right - I'll be presenting evidence on behalf of the Trust so can only report on what the government had asked of them but I think it will definitely expose how very wrong they got it, many times over

I hope your mother is doing okay. I think people (anyone, not just the vulnerable) may be offered a booster in the Autumn/Winter. If that’s the case I have no hesitations having another one especially after my experience with Covid.

The inquiry should have started a while ago, I don’t know why it has taken this long.

She's having surgery later this month but we are hopeful it's been caught early enough. I would still have the boosters when offered, I had covid in July 2021 and am surprised it hasn't been back around to me yet since the rest of the family have all had it for a second time - except my mum who thankfully hasn't had it at all

I think the Government probably know that a lot of their incompetence is going to be exposed by the inquiry as so they are doing whatever they can to stall the process; my secondment is allegedly for six months but I'm under no illusions that it will be done and dusted by then! I will say though that NHS Trusts have been preparing for a while behind the scenes, collating evidence, etc. But in my substantive role I was asked to review my inbox for ANY emails at all that mention Covid (there are hundreds) and that's just one member of staff from 2m NHS workers!

ETA: Thank you @monga and I agree I was stupid; those who I mostly overshared with have moved elsewhere so I'll continue to speak with them privately but I've learned my lesson re personal details on here - if that person is lurking then so be it but I really don't think my new job etc is scandalous enough for them to use

It sounds like the workload will be huge for you and everyone else involved. It will probably take many months and I won’t be surprised if there are lots of delays along the way to deflect.

It sounds like the workload will be huge for you and everyone else involved. It will probably take many months and I won’t be surprised if there are lots of delays along the way to deflect.

I feel 100% better now to be honest... I had a few tests and it was found that my B12 levels were through the floor so I have regular injections now and that's really helped. I know there has been potential evidence that Covid can lower your B12 levels but also that low B12 can cause you to have more severe Covid symptoms - either way I'll keep topped up from now on!

I think it could end up potentially taking years rather than months to provide everything they ask for; there are 7 key lines of enquiry which aren't all health-based but each one has so many questions underneath it. I don't mind to be honest as it's a higher grade role than my substantive post so although more responsibility it would be nice to get the extra money for a few more months!

@monga sorry I'll tag this on here so not to derail but if that account isn't active any more are you able to tell me their username? Would be useful to have a search of their previous posts - obviously if not then no worries!

That could be due to your previous Covid infection. In some of the studies I read around this, inflammation remained high 8 months after an infection.

that would make perfect sense as that was 6 months after I had covid… they repeated my pre op at the beginning of April (9months afterwards) and they were fine by then

I had a look through their posts they are still active on here but haven't posted since Jan ,you're right they are living in Dublin but they're not European knew there was no Irish vibe there especially in the language used ....Hopefully it'll die down and it doesn't affect your employment prospects ,it very worrying to know there are that type of person among us that takes things to that extreme over a simple reaction ,what would they be like if crossed IRL ...we'll leave this now glad to clear that up with you and good luck

Glad they are now fine. Mine where also repeated and are back to normal.

They should be testing every case for current or prior Covid-19 infection. With it being worldwide, the testing will vary but it would be good if there was some sort of guideline all countries could follow regarding testing for pathogens/sequencing to shed light on what is going on.

They are taking it seriously by the coverage it has had and the warning signs to look out for in children. I just hope they find the cause of it soon.
