Arguably the hoarding is sort of justifiable now.
Obviously hoarding ridiculous amounts is ridiculous but I have been trying to stock up because if I get sick and can't shop - I have nobody else to do it for me and I have kids to feed.
There's a fine line between buying enough to last a few weeks if you become unwell and hoarding.

I truly hope that whatever they have in place to support those with exams upcoming is actually going to work.
I wonder if they're just going to award projected grades based on coursework which counts as the majority of the grade anyway.
Either way they need to make it clear.
I don't have kids at exam age yet but I can imagine the worry for them and their parents.

What are you doing to pass the time? Would love to be in my apartment in Spain, on the roof terrace but sadly Im at work and trying to work in utter chaos!
Luckily I'm working from home so that passes the day, I'm just missing being able to get out the house for a walk even for 10 minutes

I agree. I felt like he had his tit together for the most part and he had some authority in his voice. or a boot up his arse!

Either way, I think (and hope) this is positive stuff.
I’m not defending the corona hoarding,
I don’t think anyone would defend it, but looking at it from a different prospective, there are a lot of people who are feeling so anxious and overwhelmed and the only thing they can do is shop 🤷‍♀️ Not retail therapy shop, but their anxiety is making them obsess over what they CAN control, and for some that’s making sure they can feed their family and themselves, planning what they need and making sure they have 18 spare tins of cheesy beans 😐

I wonder what percentage are selfish dickheads, and what percentage are people really struggling with the lack of control looking for ways to make themselves feel better.

im saying again I’m not defending it at all. Some people are just greedy, but some are looking for a buoy when they’ve mentally gone overboard.

its not always fair to put everyone in the head category.

I completely the agree! It’s absolutely a way to gain control in a situation that feels so out of control, so I understand. I’ve moved in with my dad as he’s over 70. My husband works in the NHS and I don’t know if he could bring it home and then we pass it on to my Dad. So I’m facing not seeing my husband for I don’t even know how long, but I felt it gave me control and I felt better. I understand it and I’m definitely not putting shade on people who have bought what they need. The people buying excessive loo roll and baby milk to sell, I mean them. I hope they will be out the way and shopping will be somewhat calmer :)

ugh i've been checking my daughter's temp every hour and it's gone up again. It went down a lil this morning but now it's up again. 39.2 now.
might call 111 again and see what they say but she only has a temp and cough so I'm not sure what they can even do. I'm sure its asthma related like they said at the hospital but she doesn't typically get warmer

Annoyingly she's fine in herself. Being herself and winding me up as usual.

Yet again I'm left even more un certain than before... I work in a special school, which will still be open, but my kids will be home? Or am I an essential worker now! Boris a blundering idiot. Ffs this is a tit show.

This is exactly my situation.

BoJo side stepping yet another decision 🙃

Unfortunately, it’s not that simple as the tories abolished coursework for most subjects a few years ago 😒

I don’t think anyone could ever defend the eBay hoes, I just think there is more at play for some people, and constantly dragging everyone who’s bought extra can actually make people who already feel tit, feel worse.

im speaking as someone who’s always got extra everything 😂🤣
so I didn’t need to buy excessive amounts for anything the last week,
but I also can’t be sure I wouldn’t have thought “ok I need to be sure I have extra xyz“ when I’m hearing everything is sold out 🤷‍♀️
