This is really random but I’m a first
Time buyer and have literally just started the process of buying my first house - about a week before this all kicked off lol - just paid the solicitors for the searches if that gives you an idea of where we’re at in the process (buying as a couple). Can anyone advise if this is a really bad idea at this time of uncertainty (or a really good idea...) I’m in a very very stable job which I highly doubt is going to be affected (don’t want to out myself but I’m in the public sector and work from home anyway) also we’re not borrowing much money as have a hefty deposit so not too scared about that.... sorry I know it’s unrelated but I’m just generally really anxious and feel like we’re on the cusp of some massive uncertainty so it feels weird buying a house at the minute although I’ve not come across any reason why it would be a bad idea at the moment?
Congratulations!
Buy it!
Do it while you have your sanity.
Itll be a good distraction for you both, keep you preoccupied and give you something to look forward to in all this chaos ☺️
We have no idea how this will effect the market long term so do it while you can ☺️

2 packs of paracetamol or pain is the legal limit. Has been for a few years so that’s why they were taken off of you.
I need to pick up food shopping for food tech lessons tomorrow so hoping it’s all there as I did a click and collect order on Friday. And will pop in and see if I can get sanitary towels and tampons. (I have two jobs. Full time Monday to Friday in a school and Saturday at a supermarket)

Wash your hands first.

I didn’t realise even mentioning the Coronavirus on youtube (not just in the thumbnail/title, but saying it at all or even having it mentioned in the comments) gets you instantly demonetise Unless you’re a respectable news source l
I do kind of agree with it though, if it’s true.
it might stop the spread of misinformation on line.

Possible trigger/morbid post!

Will life insurance policies still pay out?? I have thyroid and kidney ‘underlying conditions’ as they are nicely putting it. If the worst happens will my children and partner still receive their payout?

I am isolating myself and my two young ones but my partner has to go to work to pay the bills, none of us showing symptoms as yet.
Is a thyroid issue something to be worried about with the coronavirus do you think?

This is going to create a huge problem among the workforce. So teachers are fully expecting to continue teaching from home especially with senior classes. So those who do go into to babysit, are they also expected to each all their classes plus the ones in from of them? That's a workload issue as it is two separate class timetables and one they won't be paid for. Obviously that is if they get anyone to volunteer.

If they remove class sizes laws to accommodate this also another problem as I can put money if class sizes are made bigger teaching becomes less the prime objective and more crowd control.

Obviously the first port of call will be the young and childless but creating that sort of "pressured volunteering" like "well you have no dependents" or "well you can fight it off" will create resentment for many. On top of the resentment that many teachers feel towards government and their lack of care for teachers already. HUGE problem.

I can understand the "well people should pull together and just do it for the sake of the country" but mental health among teachers is already rock bottom for many and they are struggling to keep people in the profession. Adding this at the doorstep of teachers who already feel they go above and beyond will not help those things and relying on a career full of people who often do it anyway because of the impact on the kids will led to even worse mental health.

I'm in Scotland as a teacher so it is different to England but honestly English teachers have it way worse generally.

👏

I’ve just been notified that my husband is being sent home this week (a few months early).. he’s currently in a European country with the army on a huge operation that’s cost millions and has involved a lot of personnel from around the globe. Majority are being sent home due to CV. I’m so relieved, I’ve been getting so anxious not having someone to share my thoughts with in person (thanks tattlers for being my online OH the past few months!)

Thank you to the peeps who have sent reassuring advice re buying a house in the current climate. Just wanted to say hi - I’ve been avoiding this thread. I’ve deleted Instagram and Twitter this week. Why? I’m really anxious right now. This feels absolutely unprecedented. It feels like we’re on the cusp of something. We don’t know what’s going to happen and how it’s going to pan out. I just find the uncertainty really scary (I already have anxiety, this has really set it off) but nice to see this thread is mostly straight talking realists and not scaremongering.

What’s comin will come and we’ll meet it when it does ✌️

I don't think I've missed a single comment on this thread in the last two days 🤓 I wonder where Boris The Butcher is? I think they need to now shut the schools now that the cases are 200+ per day and deaths rising. We can see how its going to go from Italy, Iran, China etc.. its strange that we being told to carry on as normal whilst other countries are bleaching the pavements.

You’re doing well - I’m struggling to keep up! 😂

Re mooncups. I can’t use them as have tried and have a tilted cervix so it’s difficult to reach and get a good seal. Wish I could have tried a few different versions and tried multiple times but just don’t get on at all.
Sorry for chiming in, I use a mooncup and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t form a seal around your cervix? It seems to sit just inside with the stem poking out a tiny bit? I wouldn’t have thought a tilted cervix would affect it, but I don’t know much about vaginas I’ll admit .

I have a tilted cervix and can't get the mooncup of several brands I tried to open up inside me. Maybe that's what she means. They were always uncomfortable, leaking and giving me persistent trush. My nurse actually advised me to stop trying them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Closing the schools might not make any difference. As I’ve said on another threat teenagers will not stay indoors they will congregate in more public places and if anything possibly make it worse. Not to mention the childcare issues it would cause.

Maybe i just have a huge bucket vagina then as I can’t seem to get a seal and get leaks just assumed it was because of my tilted cervix.

I think your the same as me. I can't get it to pop open inside me it's always somewhat dented or folded no matter what one I tried or how I folded it. Not all vulvas are made the same though. Try disks. I had one once and it was comfortable and worked.
