I personally don’t think it makes sense at all to reject evidence based science though and treat Covid with stuff ordered from the internet. I also think that whoever promotes this aforementioned stuff is profiteering from that, too. But that’s ok, though? But that's how they choose to live life and treat their body ,some fill up with supplements thinking they work wonders ,some never put a tablet near their mouth ,that's just how the world is we don't all follow the same path.

My husband tested last night, negative in the 30 minutes, he left it out all night and this morning I saw a faint line, he re tested, negative at 30 minutes, he went into a meeting (at home) and at the 2 hour mark a faint line again. He’s tested again tonight and at 30 minutes and 45 it’s completely negative. The line seems to appear faintly after 1-2 hours. We’ve never had this issue before, we rarely leave them out but not noticed this if we have. We also haven’t been out mixing, he just walks the dog. I’ve read online of others having this issue and being told it’s void and it counts as a negative. I’ve had really bad anxiety all day (I can’t be vaccinated so it really set my anxiety off) can anyone reassure me?

I’m pretty sure that you should disregard any lines that appear after that amount of time - you should do the test and bin it after 30 minutes.

Thank you. So I shouldn’t be worried if he gets a faint line after the 30 minutes? It’s just so bizarre as I’ve never seen this before so it’s shaken me up today. His test tonight is still clear at 1 hour post test.

Anyway, people always seem to worry about anything new. They assume that it won’t have been tested. It was the same when the HPV vaccine came out but most people don’t seem to have concerns about that any more. Unfortunately all vaccines can cause bad reactions but in the majority of cases, the benefits outweigh the risks. That is not to say that ‘collateral damage’ to some people is ok but we don’t live in a perfect world.

People are constantly looking for something to be wrong even to the point of taking something out of context or cherry picking something when there is a bigger picture.

Of course there are risks and side effects with so many things in life.

Didn’t you post about this on the thread? I really would not count any of the readings after the 30 minutes. If it is negative within the 30 minute time frame I would take it as a negative result and he does not have Covid-19. Please do not work yourself up anymore than you have. Myself and a few other posters have assured you anything after 30 minutes is discounted.

I did, thank you. it just happened again on a third test after the time frame so I was really concerned, his test in thr last hour though still shows positive after 60 minutes so hoping the other 3 meant nothing, he’s sleeping next to me tonight so I was a tad nervous and shouldn’t have googled and read mumsnet discussing this happening to them and it meaning positive in some cases lol.

If none of the LFT tests are showing a positive result within the 30 minute time frame and are coming up negative, then I would not worry. If he has symptoms he could do a PCR test to double check.

Thank you. He doesn’t have any symptoms. Nor does my son,and he had a test do this tonight too after 30 minutes so he repeated it and was negative after an hour so we binned it. Hoping it’s a dodgy batch. This started over 24 hours ago in my husbands tests so hopefully by now if positive it would be within the window snd have symptoms. He said he will do an LFT in the morning and pcr if need be.

I do think very unlikely he is positive as LFT would have shown a positive straight away. I know a comment from a stranger on the internet is not going to lessen your anxiety and worry but I hope you can take a breather from all of this.

Thank you, I appreciate your replies, it helps. I struggle to sleep alone so he’s sleeping next to me tonight, fingers crossed tomorrow he’s negative in the time frame too.

What brand of LFT is this? This exact same thing has been happening to me using the Orient brand LFTs. I posted about it the other day but it’s been happening with every test of theirs that I’ve done since the 29th December! Very weird
