I think this is somewhat covid related. Does anyone ever feel they are just constantly in a bad mood? I just feel irritable and grumpy a lot of the time. I think maybe cause in my part of the world covid is still rampant and hospitals full so it honestly feels never ending. It's like we are in limbo.

I think many can resonate with feeling like this. Especially with everything going on at the moment, overwhelming and complete overload. 🤯 There are times I feel grumpy, sad, happy, unmotivated, full of energy and then flat again…all in the space of a minute. I then need to have a quiet word with myself and try and shake it off so I can get on with my day. 😅

Isn’t there a lot of things classed as an act of god , from slipping on ice to being hit by lightening I suppose getting a random illness could be seen like that if it’s not self inflicted.
Lots of insurance underwriters use the phrase “act of god” it basically implies it’s something outside of anyone’s control. Doesn’t surprise me though that a creedist is mocking and ridiculing others when God is mentioned.

Yeah that’s right ,we would use the phase’ it’s Gods will’ quite a bit where I’m from ,means nothing only a natural occurrence , not some religious nutty undertone 😅

Not really, I'm not religious but say something similar to that. No different to people saying "if your times up it's up".

Why are churchgoers seen as nutters here? American is a very religious country they are not all nutters or think the same.
It only seems to be Christians they pick on too, never any other religion. It’s disgusting and the height of disrespect to mock an individual due to their beliefs. No ones asking anyone to believe in their faith. Pulling apart common phrases and suggesting they mean something different to what they do, to me just indicates this person just doesn’t get out much.

But science doesn’t stop/ cure every illness it would be ridiculous to think that, even the best doctor in the world wouldn’t make that claim.

I wouldn't want to be treated by any doctor or nurse who might think my illness - and the cure - was down to a God I don't believe in. She does believe in American citizen's right to keep weapons though. So she does stand for something

People say act of god here who aren’t even religious. It’s just like saying tit happens that you can’t control, it’s life, nature. Exactly what getting a virus is.

It’s like the way that so many people have got this bug that’s going around in the first few weeks it’s known. We’ve all got it as soon as it’s here, yet people still think we could have avoided COVID for near two years? It’s nature that people get viruses. Nothing to do with a lord smiting you down. There are too many of us in too close a proximity.

I guess I'm just one of those old fashioned people who expects medics to believe in science.
Where do they not believe in science?!

You’ve poorly misunderstood the phrase “Act of God” for layman’s terms - it basically means tit happens, sometimes with no scientific reason other than pot luck.

“My beliefs are religious. I believe that my creator endowed me with an immune system that protects me, and if I get sick, that’s an act of God. I would not take a medicine that affects the immune system,'

She's not an insurance broker! She's not talking about someone's chimney being hit by lightning
